I've got no spark coming from my spark plug. Electrical start works fine and tries to turn the engine over. Spark plug's brand new with ~.6 mm gap. I have a multimeter and checked some of the voltages off the parts.
Stator - ~50vAC
Pickup - 0.25-0.50vAC
Primary wires for ignition coils - <10vAC
When I saw the voltage the CDI was sending to the ignition coil, I assumed it must be bad so I bought a kit replacing both the CDI and ignition coil, still got no spark. None of the connections are reversed, voltage coming out of the stator looks fine.
Got any advice? I've replaced the CDI, spark plug and ignition coil. Should I go ahead and replace the stator? I've bypassed the kill switch and it's not the problem. All lights work except for my brights. Spark plug cap is tight, no corrosion on any connections I can see. I tested for continuity in all the wires coming out of the CDI. After replacing the CDI, I still got ten or less volts from the primary wires to the coil. Help please!~

I thought about the ground, and all of them are bolted on real tight. There /is/ a ton of rust where the grounds connect, but I don't have anything to clean that with at the moment. Could that be impeding the contact?

sure it can
a wire brush, some sand paper, even a regular screwdriver to make a contact between frame and ground & engine and ground

Yes that could very well be the problem, if the Ground wire from the frame to the motor is not making good contact the spark plug will not fire.
Take all the wires off the bolt and nut and scrap it clean down to the metal with a knife screwdriver anything.

yes bad grounds will cause trouble i think the voltage for your pickup is low first clean all your ground connections and retest your stator

Yeah, the voltage on the pickup is a bit low, but I'm really hoping it's not that because replacing the stator is a pain. I see three grounds, one of them is coming from the flywheel and I'm not too sure where the other two are going, but are there any more I should look for?
Now I have to some how wrangle this bolt off. It's bigger than 10mm, smaller than 11mm, bigger than 3/8 and smaller than 7/16. I don't even. e.e

Got the ground off, but for some reason when I put the key in and turned it, I didn't get power to anything. Then it started raining. lol

That was probably the ground from the battery. Don' t be taking grounds off and testing you could burn out bulbs and what not. Take the grounds off CLEAN them clean where they connect to on the frame and bolt them back up THEN try it.

Cleaned of the grounds and tested again. My pickup is up to ~.6-.8vAC. My battery died though, so I can't test for spark until I get it charged.

Went and tested it and still no spark. The voltage from the pickup has dropped down to like .1v
Another odd then, while standing, my battery has ~12.25v but when I turn the key and the lights kick on, it drops to 8.7-ishvAC.

The battery dropping that much is not good, either your battery is toast bad cell or one of your lights has a bad ground. So first check the green ground wires going to the sockets of the bulbs of your lights.

So, I wasn't sure how to test all the grounds. (The contacts are fine, but I don't know how to test continuity with the bulbs. I disconnected everything but the ignition lock shaft and the dashboard from the battery and got the same drop in voltage. None of the bulbs on the dash are blown, though I still can't use my brights.

So I'm assuming there is a basic electrical "pickup" on the crank somewhere. It will be a sensor that connects to the cdi and tells the cdi to fire. It should basically be a simple Magnetic sensor with a wire. i'm not sure where it is but follow the wires you don't know about on the cdi and you should find it.
