Hello all. Trying to make sense of this harness.I have the bike running, however: -The start button will not work, I just short out above the starter solenoid to make it crank. I believe the front brake switch needs to be connected and maybe that could the the issue? -I really don't know what to do with "Engine gear line" / "Gear indication"? -Key doesnt cut out spark (Got it started... almost lost the whole bike it started reving so high!)

Do you have a multimeter? Make sure the button is getting voltage when the key is turned to on, if it is try crossing the button wires to simulate pressing the button. Does the dash read the gas level and such when the key is on? Is the thin wire leading from the solenoid securely connected to the connector? Are any of the starter button wires loose or the killswitch wires loose?

Wiring is all new, its probably Ok, it's really probably some kind of safety switch that is keeping the button from working.

I hope you don't mind if I ask the same type question about my scoot's wiring. I took the nosecone off my gy6150 because I had received the machine with an already burnt out headlamp. As many of you prob know, the whole front practically has to come off to replace lightbulbs. well, I replaced the burnt out bulb, plus put better headlamps in. Before I put everything back together, I connected the 6-prong connector, and turned on the machine to see if the lamps all work. They didn't. The front turn signals do not work at all. One time, only the high-beams worked. I jiggled the wires a little. The regular beams worked, but the high beam didn't. I jiggle some more...now the headlamps don't work. Also, the horn doesn't work. The starter button on the right side works fine.
Should I just pull out the old wires and re-wire the 6prong with solid copper wire and put on new connectors? Should I replace the hi/low switch?
I really want my scoot to run again. I've spent most of the year with it in pieces fixing and tinkering with it. Kinda tired of working on it during the weekends, just want to ride...
thanks for letting me hop on to your post.

Well I'm not worried about the wiring, I'm giving you places to look to start diagnosing the cause of the problem. If there is no power to the starter button then you check the key switch, if there is no power going to or coming out of the keyswitch you check the fuse and battery wires. You can't really wire it wrong if the new harnes came with connectors, all the running pieces have connectors that do not fit in other spots besides things like lights and the solenoid switch activating wire.

I need to see the parts mounted not the ebay pics. on scooters the starter switches switch ground not power. Make a list of what works and what does not. John
