Hi. I've had gremlins for a while on my scooter, current problem is no start (common) and headlamps not working.
My neighbor got out his fancy volt meter and we tested every connection. Battery to headlamps, work. Battery to headlamp switch, to headlamp, fail. I ordered a new switch.
Battery to starter switch, engine cranks, but does not turn over.
Battery to rectifier to starter switch, sometimes engine cranks, sometimes nothing.
I ordered a new spark plug and rectifier. While trying to see if the spark plug "sparked" I held the ignition coil with my hand, and my hand tingled, but I could not see a spark. I imagine power is going through the line, since i felt it, but the plug was bad? I don't know...
Do rectifiers go bad? my understanding is the rectifier is a solid state electronic device, and that's about all I know...I hope these new parts work.
1 year ago I replaced the CDI, solenoid, ignition coil, spark plug boot, starter and starter switch.
When we tested all the connections, we got almost zero ohms, which means there is almost no resistance in the circuits, i guess...electricity is not my thing...

I hope you don't mind if I ask the same type question about my scoot's wiring. I took the nosecone off my gy6150 because I had received the machine with an already burnt out headlamp. As many of you prob know, the whole front practically has to come off to replace lightbulbs. well, I replaced the burnt out bulb, plus put better headlamps in. Before I put everything back together, I connected the 6-prong connector, and turned on the machine to see if the lamps all work. They didn't. The front turn signals do not work at all. One time, only the high-beams worked. I jiggled the wires a little. The regular beams worked, but the high beam didn't. I jiggle some more...now the headlamps don't work. Also, the horn doesn't work. The starter button on the right side works fine.
Should I just pull out the old wires and re-wire the 6prong with solid copper wire and put on new connectors? Should I replace the hi/low switch?
I really want my scoot to run again. I've spent most of the year with it in pieces fixing and tinkering with it. Kinda tired of working on it during the weekends, just want to ride...
thanks for letting me hop on to your post.
