Got a Kymco People GTi 300. "Oil Service" light lit up on the instrument console. Even after changing the oil and filter, the light is still on. How can I reset it without a Kymco Diagnostic Tool or equivalent? Or is that the only way? Thanks guys.

Removing the negative battery terminal lead with the ignition key on didn't fix the problem. The oil service light is still on. Any other ideas other than taking it into the dealer or repair shop? Thanks.

Thanks. Have you tried calling the dealership and asking how to reset the light? It's probably just a specific sequence of actions that need to be performed. They may be able to tell you over the phone.

Good idea. I'll see if I can find a dealer.

www.kymcousa.com/owners/index.htmlPress the ADJ. button for two second, then displays the ODO, TRIP or SERVICE mode.
Press the ADJ. and MODE button simultaneously at the SERVICE mode, then the indicator go out automatically.

Found the solution when I googled again. It's a simple matter of pressing the ADJ button (the right-hand button) on the Kymco's instrument console for 2 sec to get to the menu, then advancing (by pressing ADJ) to the screen after the TRIP setting, then holding down the ADJ button until it resets. Service oil light is now off.

That's good news! There is no point taking it to the dealer for something so simple. And thank you for posting the solution if anyone else has a similar scoot.
