Hi so I overfilled my scooter with oil and caused an oil leak. i thought i blew some seals or gaskets but came to realize that the oil was coming out of the valve cover breather since it had a hole in it. I cut that off and cleaned the oil soaked air filter then gave it a test ride. Mind you I did not let the air filter dry over night. I "blew" dried the air filter and went for a test ride and there is oil all over the place again. not coming out of the valve breather because i cut that part of the hose off. is it the filter or is something else going on? the oil is all dripping down from the air box. no other leaks apparently. i took the air box off and cleaned it. it was full of oil and fuel. the clear tube filled right back up with oil and over flowed. i am sure the air filter is soaked with oil again. The snorkel going to the carb has no oil in it so obviously it isn't leaking from the egr. although the egr clamp isn't on properly. i doubt that has anything to do with it though. If it was coming from the cvt case hose into the air box id have to assume that it would also be leaking out of the cvt case since when i changed the belt last time i didn't put a new gasket on but that side is completely clean.all the oil is dripping from under the airbox down onto the engine so i say it is coming from the valve breather. My air filter is possibly still clogged could that cause it? what else could cause oil to go into the air box in excess?

well amidst the abundance of fml one seemingly good thing happened, i found an old air filter which in comparison to the current is beyond half way decent and its dry!

I would drain all the oil from the scoot. Add the correct amount and see what happens. Usually you check the oil with the dipstick not screwed in , and it will read half way up the marks when full.

went for a test drive with half the amount of oil(all i had) and no filter. I didn't want to sully another filter so I left it off and took a short ride. results in the videos

Looks like you have bad piston rings. You could just replace the rings, but then you would have to hone the cylinder.
With how cheap parts for GY6 motor are, you could fairly cheaply replace both with new parts. Or as I suggested earlier, spring a little extra for a BBK.

HI Heruk. No, honing the cylinder is not getting a new one... It's a tool used for cleaning/Smoothing your cylinder and making it fresh again... Click this link That will show you what a honing tool is... Most auto stores rent them for relatively cheap...

any videos on how to machine the engine for a bbk? i suppose there are no bbk's that you can just stick on and go right? Heruk, Yes, there a few BBK's you can use without having to bore the case.... The biggest one I know of is a 61mm BBK made by NCY... As far as I know, NCY is the only one that makes a 61mm kit that will fit without having to bore out the case... But it's pricey. But there's also 58.5mm BBK's that require no boring... They're a dime a dozen too... About the same cost as a stock setup... You can also add a stroker crank up to 2.5mm to increase the the cc's. A stroker is where you'll get real torque from anyways... A 58.5mm piston with A +2.5 (61.2mm stroke) will make a 162cc... With a 61mm and +2.5mm stroker you will have a 176cc... With no case modifications. If you did bore it out, you could go upto a 63mm piston, use a +2.5mm stroker you would be at 188cc... I you go all out and machine the piston, you can go up to +4 stroker on an a-case 157QMJ using a spacer... 63mm piston plus a +4 stroker you could make a 193cc....

What exactly are looking for as a top speed ? You can easily reach 60+ with a 58.5 bbk and some carb and exhaust work . if you do some CVT , and head work , with a few other smaller mods , you should be able to reach 65+ on straight runs. It starts to get a little pricey when it comes to wanting a 150 style scoot to reach the 65+ range. Off the top of my head your lookin at around $700 bucks. Depending on the top end your looking at between 150 & $200 . with a big flow exhaust , carb , and unifilter your lookin at around $175+ . when it comes to the CVT you will need a high performance variator, and clutch assembly which will run you around $200 . then you have the final drive gears , a high performance cam , high performance cdi and coil which would run near $75. I probably missed something but that's pretty much it. And that's if you don't the work yourself. The gy6 engine is actually pretty cheap to modify compared to brand name engines .
