Is it hard to replace an oil pump on a CF Moto 250 scooter?

Hi all, I hope you've been well.
I backed off my internet use a few months ago to focus on financial survival.
I found a crappy job & my scoot has amazingly survived the 10 mile commute for 3 months now.
Until now. The engine started making some horrendous noises. I checked the oil and it came flowing out of the engine! I thought it must be mixed with the water reservoir but that level hadn't dropped.
I changed the oil and it ran a lot better but still occasional screeching.
I suspect some kind of oil blockage. I tried jerking side to side to splash the oil around when it screeched & it seemed to work.

Is installing that pump beyond my oafish mechanical abilities?
Should I also try to replace the sprocket, chain & oil passage plug, shown on that website?
