So I'm in the market for a new belt I still have the factory belt on at 6500 km. The belt size on there now is 835 20 30 My question is, do I need to get this exact size? Or is there different variances I get get to achieve different performance?

You have to use the same size, a smaller belt will snap and possibly damage the scoot (not sure if it will even fit), a bigger one will slip and make the scoot loose power or not move at all.

Same belt, they are made to fit the CVT size, not for changes in performance. The weights, variator, clutch springs, contra springs, clutch bell/pads, and final gears can all be upgraded for performance.

The 842 will give you a couple extra MPH in the top end range, but you may have slightly decreased take off and your scoot will be at a higher RPM. J erseyBoy Thread

Yes , you have a long case engine . you can use an 842 instead of an 835. The 842 is better to use . it will give you a higher top speed. Well it can give you a higher top speed if you tune the CVT correctly. I always use an 842 . I've never bought an 835. You can even use an 846 . I bought one once , but i didn't take my time to really tune it in. I would like to try it again with my K&S variator. Actually I probably shouldn't try it since I'm already at the top of the variator. I'd def give it another shot if I had one of the 117mm variators. Most if not all long case scoots come with an 835 and many switch to the 842 . the 842 is one of the upgrades most do when they mod their scoots.
