I'm running stock bore with a performance exhaust and a blue CDI. Could raising the needle enable me to use a uni filter without having to order a new adjustable carb to avoid running too lean?

It will help, but you may have to wrap some duct tape around part of that uni, which defeats the purpose. You usually do need to up-jet the main when doing intake and exhaust mods.

Thanks for the info! I've still got the stock carb on and didn't want to tear it apart or replace it unless necessary (shortcuts are bad, I know that).

Update I have not removed my carb yet but did just richen the a/f up a half turn and the bogging got less, so will try a little more and see if I can get rid of it that way, but will still be tearing the carb down this weekend and moving the needle, and then re-adjust and see where I am, and if I need to go up to a bigger main jet. Now when I richened the mixture I had no change in idle rpm, but it did help with the bog.

Only problem is I don't have a 108, have a 105 and a 110, may just throw the 110 in and let her eat and see what happens lol

Go for it , lol. That's what I would try. You of course will have to adjust the air fuel again , but it may be fine.

was planning on whatever I did, to reset the a/f and start over with adjusting it.

Update: So checked the needle was one step from being at the bottom so all the way rich, at least as far as the needle, so i replaced the 106 main with the 110, and put the clip to the top of the needle. Scooter has more power now but still has a slight bog, I am not finished adjusting the a/f got to dark to continue, but I think I may move the clip down one or two spots and see what that does.

Life has handed me a full plate and time has become a valuable commodity for me at the moment. Luckily, with it being Sunday, I have a minute to catch my breath. I meant to include a 105, 108 and 110. I accidentally included a 106 I guess. I didn't realize I had any 106's... I'll be most interested to see if changing the needle height fixes your bogging issue. I've used these carbs on a lot of different scoots and never had to mess with the needle.

Hey no problem, and yea the 106 I thought was a 108 as well but as I looked closer it is a 106, the top of the six almost comes around and touches looking like an 8. Now as far as the testing last night, had more power on takeoff, felt like the old motor when I got the scoot new lol. The bogging was not as bad as far as didn't lose as much power just kinda flattened out until was almost to 5k, but was still picking up mph faster. So I think I will try to change the needle a little bit richer, hopefully I can do it without pulling the carb off, if that still doesn't fix it I may take the cvt cover off and take a look make sure it's not an issue in there restricting the scoot for some reason.

I def think its in the carb , it just takes some time . I agree with dmartin , I also have never had to mess with the needle.

Well I changed the needle lean just because I was jumping from a 106 to a 110, all the way lean on the needle was better but still had a slight bog, moved the clip down 2 spots and now the bog is still there but not as bad. So probably just need to fiddle with the a/f mixture and should be good. On the center stand there is no hesitation or bog all the way to WOT. But as soon as I go for a ride has a slight bog and not much of the hesitation, so figure just a little bit more of adjusting while riding, and should be 100%. Even with the slight bog seems to have more power and hits top speed quicker, so even tho the plug was not showing lean or overly rich, I think that may be why I was only getting around 56 mpg.

Yeah , 56 mpg is really low for your setup. Even 60 mpg is low . Im courious to hear what it gets when its tuned in .
