Hi All, new guy here, we have a 2013 Iceberg 50cc and we need to replace the battery, but the seat release cable is not attached at the seat. Can anyone tell me how to open it without destroying the seat. I have never opened it before so don't even know which way the release works. Maybe a pic would help. Thanks tjanddj

cable is not attached under the seat I would look anyways. Even if the cable isn't attached to the seat it may still be attached to the lock release mechanism. If there is nothing at all attached to the lock release mechanism it wouldn't hold the lock shut so there has to be something attached to it.

Is it a an Iceberg trike, a Rukus clone, or "classic" (like my photo)?
The latch on the seat PROBABLY is spring loaded in the 'latched' position, Operated by your ignition key, or just a pull handle?
If there is nothing attached to the latch at all, you will have to feel from underneath, find the latch with your fingers, find the "arm" the cable SHOULD be attached to, and then rotate it to release the latch. The seat will not just pop up - you have to lift it clear of the latch while the latch is released.
Some (like me) have added a spring below the seat so when the latch is released the seat pops up a bit, clear of the latch. Quite handy once you have this problem resolved. Let me know if interested & I'll snap a photo of the simple fix.

If its attached like many other scoots , you can take the front bolt out and release the front of the seat . from there you may be able to pop the seat off or even be able to get inside to change the battery. Def post a pic. I locked my keys under my seat before and I was able to just unbolt the front of the seat from the frame and get into the compartment that way.

Yes got it opened!! Thank you all, it was still hooked up, to an aftermarket release hidden in the body panels.. I tried to post this answer as a quick reply but didn't see it on the board. As you can see a REAL newbie to forum boards. Does anyone know where I can buy the plastic clips that hold the panels on. Yes I broke them searching for the release cable. tjanddj

PVC glue or loctite is one thing you should carry in your scoot, those plastics keep braking all the time.

It's thick enough to put a blob on, giving a bit of extra strength. Upload a photo of your scoot. Iceberg's come in a bunch of formats, and w/o knowing what yours was it was hard to help. Here is a handy (free) web service that will out your photo up (just upload and copy the "message board" link to it, past it into a comment - presto ... photo appears): tinypic.com/
