187*F oil temp --after a 3-4 or so mile ride, w/pitstops though. 66*F outside around 2:30am (and it feels great!). I'll test it going to work, which is 9 real miles one-way. It's where the majority of my miles come from anyway. 139qmb style engine, with 72cc bbk. Castrol 10w30 dino oil-- it's what I'm using with this engine (for a bit over 7,000km w/72cc bbk), and will continue to use it even though I used 10w40 in the past. The oil has been recently changed-- within maybe 200km. Great work ! 187 f is a perfect temp !! I can't wait to see the other results!!

The temp went up due to the scoot not cooling it . .

I also suggest using " Royal Purple Max Cycle " in your scoots . this is one of the best , if not the best synthetic oil out there. On the street racing show " street outlaws " , the only oil " big cheif " uses in his garage and street racing cars is Royal Purple. I've been using it for most of my scoots life. Now and then I have to buy a cheaper oil " when I'm broke " but I usually use the RPMC . its 17.99 a quart at advance auto. The regular royal purple is around $9.00 bucks a quart and is also good to use. Of course this is just a suggestion , many already have their specific type of oil they like to use. I'm hoping to get another 20k on the scoots engine but only time will tell. I'm afraid I may have caused damage to the crank bearings and the cam bearings when my oil pump stopped working , but again only time will tell. So far there is no unusual noise coming from anywhere. yeah, no offense but i'm not paying that price for a $300 engine. that's over 4X the price i normally pay. i'm not an expert on oil but i doubt i will get 4X the mileage. wonder how much of that $17.99/qt goes into the pocket of "big chief"? people will do/say anything for the right price. proly a big reason why that oil is so expense with all the advertising and endorsements. i'm not saying it's a bad oil... just saying it's not worth the money. no offense. Wow... That's some expensive oil. I just get castrol, valvoline, or mobil1 depending on what's on sale at the time. I have to buy so much oil lately that stuff would bankrupt me. I've been doing oil changes for friends and whatnot, been through 4 5 quart jugs in the past month. If I got that stuff I would have just become more poor than I already am! lol For most people a good brand is great, I don't doubt hat the purple stuff works amazingly, but it's simply too costly for these engines when most people just ride them for a couple months and put them in storage for half or more of the year. Not to mention you can do a few oil changes on the regular stuff and still not spend as much as one bottle of the purple stuff.

I would recommend the regular royal purple for 7.99 " at Napa " if one didn't want to buy the max cycle.

The past week or so my temps have ranged from 160-210 . I hit 210 when I had the 1500 rpm main spring in and i was riding at wot for nearly 10 miles. With rpms reaching nearly 8000 rpms at times. I have the stock main spring in now with 15 gram rollers . my 1000 main spring will be here 2moro . my 17 gram rollers came 2day.
Its funny , I was nearly pull wheelies with 16 gram rollers and the 1500 main spring. I sat all the way back on the seat and pulled up on the bars ,I thought I was going to flip the darn thing, lol. The front wheel came off the ground what felt like two ft or more , lol. I let off the throttle and the scoot slammed back down. I was afraid I may have knocked something loose , but she's ok.
