Ill make a quick video showing my oil temps at idle. I'll let it idle for 30mins and the ill show the temp of the oil dipstick , then I'll shut the scoot down , take out the dipstick and place the other temp gauge into the oil showing its temps. I'll also gibe the outside temp. *note I edited post #11The video is uploading right now... About 45min and it will be published. Any hints !! On what the video shows .

I have a video uploading also . I have a situation at hand . check this pic out . . My gauge over the last day or so had to have went haywire !! I've been jinxed !! But the video shows this also . the cooper reads the true temp . my oil dipstick gauge is now reading about 40 degrees f too high !! I've had this darn thing for about 4 years and it now decides to take a dump !!, thanks a lot I have it jb welded so I can't calibrate it!! The oil dipstick should read 0 degrees c in ice water. Its actually reading about 50+ too high

The video is about what you asked: "How does the KOSO gauge work exactly"

Sorry , I'm just anxious to.see the results . I'm actually anxious to see the results myself. I just got these a few days ago, that's why they're not installed. I ordered 4 of these kits. The LED instrument actually comes with a sender, but it's the wrong size. $40 for the LED, $15 for the sender and you have a professional setup! The next time I do an oil change I'll install one of these. Probably within the next few days... I am just so backed up with my projects and work, I don't even have time for sleep But I will get to it ASAP.

Well what it shows is my dipstick gauge is way out of wack !! Lol. The f reading on the cooper was about 149 and the reading on the dipstick gauge was 161 or so. I may have messed it up when I melted the lens a few weeks ago. But i thought it was working recently ? I'm curious what your temps will show. I know the dipstick gauge is def off , and I believe the cooper is accurate , considering that's what my normals use to be when idling for 30mins.

Either way , I believe you just convinced me to buy a koso gauge. Those things are nice !

This is where I'm at. Well my dipstick gauge read accurate yesterday , so what happened ? The only thing I can say is That Dmartin was right about these gauges. Even though I thought it was working all these years , maybe it was not . even though it may be accurate sometimes , well I guess it is not always accurate. So as of right now , I cannot go by that gauge. And will eventually buy a koso. However I still stand by my low temps . the cooper showed the true and accurate temp . just yesterday the the dipstick gauge and the cooper read the same , but today is a different story. The dipstick gauge didn't even pass the ice water test today. So I take back what I said about buying a cheap dipstick gauge " don't do it " . for now I'm going to see if I can remove the job weld and switch the cheap dipstick gauge with the cooper gauge , atleast until I can buy a koso .

Here is my temporary dipstick gauge!! I replaced the junk gauge with the cooper gauge. Use its not a very expensive gauge either ,but at least its accurate as of now , lol. This is until I get a koso gauge .

A member just informed me that the koso temp gauges give a warning at 120c which is 249 f. This points to a lower normal temp. It actually says this on the description page. Im def getting one soon !

187*F oil temp --after a 3-4 or so mile ride, w/pitstops though. 66*F outside around 2:30am (and it feels great!).
I'll test it going to work, which is 9 real miles one-way. It's where the majority of my miles come from anyway.
139qmb style engine, with 72cc bbk. Castrol 10w30 dino oil-- it's what I'm using with this engine (for a bit over 7,000km w/72cc bbk), and will continue to use it even though I used 10w40 in the past.
The oil has been recently changed-- within maybe 200km.
