Chainsaw, impact driver, TV, multimeter and braker circuit box are gone, I see boring evenings, BBQ dinner and cold showers in my future

I managed to get some power for my laptop, phone and a torch for the night, with a little help from my Land Rover

Someone ripped out the circuit breaker box for your house? What the heck can they do with that?! Is there really a black market for stolen breaker boxes? And why would they have bothered with all that effort? Why not grab your laptop instead? I don't understand bad people anyways, but this one (these ones?) seem extra stupid and bad. That really sux, man. I'm sorry for you, ricardo. Hopefully your insurance comes through fast so you can replace everything and get off the Land Rover battery. >'Kat

I had the power restored yesterday, is good to have hot showers and not having to light a fire for a hot dinner, but I have to admit that I enjoyed the BBQ pork chops and tenderloin

I can't stand thieves, and they're usually liars right along with it.
I'd be keeping a close eye on your scoot, too.

Still makes me wonder. Stealing a circuit box can NOT be all that easy. Ditto copper from a/c's etc etc. GO GET A REAL JOB PEOPLE!!!!!! I mean, seriously. Can't be that much more work and effort that ripping out a circuit box. Pay is probably better, or at the very very least as good as the "few pennies" that box nets you. And you go home feeling good about an honest day's labour. (geh, weren't you just telling me about that "new" chainsaw you picked up...? ) >'Kat

UPDATE: I got a call from the police investigating the case, some of the fingerprints collected are good for identification, now I just have to wait and see if they show up on the database, if not, wait until the burglar gets caught for another crime and then gets charged for this one as well

Makes sense, aside from the TV, he took mostly tools and the breaker box

I heard a story or 2 of people in Detroit trying to steal electricity from power poles. That involves fooling around with the high voltage lines and hooking it up to presumably stolen meters. Every once in a while they end up electrocuting themselves.... what a horrible way to die.
Yeah probably somebody trying to make a peso or 2 selling stuff that they know about to people that know how to use it. Probably too suspicious for them to try and sell stuff that they really might not know how to unload without too much risk. Apparently not all thieves are utterly stupid. (or drinkers either)
