How's it going , there is a used car lot down the road from my house that has a scoot that's the same style as mine . the scoot is in ruff shape . the mirrors are hanging , the ignition is busted , the vinyl on the seat is faded and dry rotted. And the rest looks beat but the plastic is at least not busted or cracked , but is scratched and nicked up . nothing on it is pretty . at this point it is not actually up for sale , its just sitting on the side of the building. I asked the other week how much he wanted for it. And he really didn't know what to say . after a few minutes of him thinking he said maybe $300. At the time I wasn't in need of anything but now with the deer crash I wouldn't mind seeing how much I can talk him down. I have no clue if it runs " I didn't even ask " not even sure if he has a title. I would expect he does but you never know. As of now I don't have a pic . How much would you pay for something like this. If the seat , mirrors and ignition were OK and it ran and with a title , I believe it would be worth in the 300 range maybe. I believe it still had the stock junk tires. But as is , its pretty junked up. I'm going to stop back 2moro ",I saw it was still there friday " and if he can't prove it runs , Ill run it into the ground letting him know how much a new one is and how bad this one is and see if he'll take $50 for a parts scoot. I really don't even have an extra $50 but I may be able to scrounge it up for this. What do u guy think ?

Do you have an ebay account? If you so, you can Nickle and dime one of these things and make some pretty good money. When you actually do a tare down, you can almost literally see dollar signs.... I found one the other day on CL for $350.00... Went to look at it and it had no title so I wound getting it for 275... The top half of the engine was toast, but he had a brand new Taiwan rebuild kit and a brand new, still sealed muffler... Most of the plastic was toast.... But I was needing parts, not a scooter... Parts value was there. Now, if you have an identical one and can snatch up a spare for parts, I say go for it! Just don't get it, start staring and then say, well it only needs X.... Then proceed to fix it... It will likely be a money pit and you'll lose your spare parts ... I'm saying this because I have a habit of doing this.... I have started a little scooter shop out of my garage, that's why I have been buying parts scooters.

Around here people sell working used scooters for around 200-300, usually in good shape. I person ally wouldn't pay more than $100 for a parts scooter, unless the engine was perfect and only the body pieces were bad, but with as many bad body pieces as you describe I wouldn't go higher than $100 even with a working perfectly good engine.

$300 is almost what I would get for mine in good condition with 10k miles on it, I payed $900 for it brand new; with $300 you can get a lot of brand new parts for your scoot. If it is a runner and he has the title, then $300 is ok if you have to put, let's say, $200 or $300 more to put it back in shape, then you would have a $600 scoot in great shape.

idk geh, i mean from a pure profit point of view their is definitely a market for used parts on ebay. assuming everything was there then you might turn a very tiny profit reselling parts if bought for $300. now if you could get it for $100 then i would probably do it. you could keep the plastic and sell the parts or use as spare. title would make it slightly more attractive since the frame could be used/sold but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if right price.
but at $300, lol, no thx.

Thanks for the info I didn't stop by there 2day, so I'll do it 2moro. I'm going to hit him with a $50 offer and see where he goes with it. I'll be disappointed if it starts , lol. You can tell it was not taken care of at all , so if it starts I'll be shocked. I'll take a couple pics of it 2moro , if I get it or not.
