If I'm not mistaken they sell whole engine kits , but you have to build it yourself. Of course they are not as cheap as a new stock engine. I bought one from eBay about 4 yes ago for 300 bucks. Yes, they do do sell kits and all the hardware required for the build... But by the time you pieced one together, the cost would probably be so high you could buy 3 of the motors Keikara just purchased... gy6racingteam carries really nice chrome panels that I want to get once I get a little extra cash to burn..... Check out how they tricked out this scooter... I have a sunny dongfang I want to do that to: I own one identical to this:

If you have a few extra bucks I'd look into a new top end for the engine. A better quality top end should last longer then most stock top ends. For instance , you only have 4000 miles on the engine and the top end is shot. I doubt you want to buy a new engine every 4-5k miles . as for the old engine crank " if still good " can last a long time . I have everything but the crank replaced on mine . I replaced the top end when I bought the new engine and I have somewhere around 18,000 miles on her. I'd remove the old crank and put it aside . keep it nice and clean and don't let it rust. Keep all the old parts like the oil pump and , well everything that is still good. You can even use the old crank and engine case as a couple year project, and build an engine to your preference.

Very nice " both scoots ". Yeh , the Taiwan engine cases alone are more then the new stock engine.

I think my riding style had a lot to do with the top end dying in 4000 miles, I rode it hard almost full throttle take offs, WOT for % of the ride, then when the carb started to act up and was running very lean, instead of parking until I could fix kept driving it. Probably put close to 200 miles on it running lean after relizing it was lean, and still rode more than 50% of the time at WOT. Granted most days was only a 5 mile ride in and 5 back from work but once a week it was 12 miles in and 12 back, in anywhere from 40 deg F. weather to 120 deg F. And of course that is city driving so stop lights every mile or 2 and during rush hour sit thru 2-3 lights before you make it lol. As for keeping items from the old motor wife already said no, we live in a 2 bedroom apt. with no storage.

The main reason I want Keikara's old block is that I have a Taida case boring tool that I'm currently learning how to use... I don't have a boring bar (the lathe you're supposed to use)... I'm using a converted drill press and a massive bench vice.... I did my first motor the other day but I had my blade set too wide and cut into the right crankcase too deep.. I opened up the wall of an oil port... I need more engine blocks to get my setup just right. Once I get setup I'm going to start offering a case boring service.... I can do both, 54mm or 57mm cases

I also run the scoot pretty hard , I can't help it , lol. I took it a little easier last year.

It was in a crawl space under the house and was begining to rust on the inside .

I saw some nice chrome parts for mine but I just can't see paying it. $250-350 for a pretty muffler, another $200 for chromed lower body panels, terrible picture makes them look silver. Nice cvt cover though. I wonder how much that is? $125 with shipping, that is purdy! then another $100 for these beauties, windshield trim, side fairings, and shock covers So about $800-900 dollars to pimp my ride. Of course then I'd need new paint and decals...

Of course then I'd need new paint and decals... To pimp mine out would only be around 250~300 for mine.... Geh is right, the GY6racingteam has awesome prices.... And they ship fast! Don't know if you seen my 11 pole stator upgrade video or not, but the one I did the upgrade to is like the one I posted in the pic above....

I have a stereo, mp3 player, a nice trunk, a windshield, side fairings, and some nice LED strips. The bike is basically made pre-pimped. I would like to find an OEM alarm that plugs into it. I may do a nicer exhaust later but it's not a big deal. The bike rides great and looks good and that's about all I could want, but some 16" tires instead of these tiny tens would be nice. I can't see paying thousands of dollars for a nicer scooter. I may just get a motorcycle later on.
