I believe the gasket at the bottom of the cylinder may be bad, I found pieces of what looked like the material it is made from in my oil while doing an oil change.
I have slight issues starting (needs to rev to start but will always start and then idle at 2k) and issues with my oil getting dirty fast and having to add more oil or change oil every month.
I am thinking the pieces of gasket in my oil mean there is a vacuum leak created by that loss of gasket now somewhere, which is causing the issues above. Is it possible to find the spot where the broken gasket pieces came from without disassembling the ENTIRE thing... If I need to do that I am going to need all new gaskets anyways. Then again if this is going to be an issue maybe I should just order a bunch of new gaskets and redo them all with gasket sealer or something right? I want to get it so I am not dealing with issues every month >.>

Not sure, maybe take the fan shroud off and look around the cylinder base.
These issues (threads) you've had lately, have me concerned to be honest. With the head nuts and cylinder side bolts coming loose and possible gasket pieces in the oil.
For the oil, I usually change mine once a month. Usually by 1,000km it's black--- which is why I change mine before that point anyway. The oil level dropping, other than normal use, could be a leak (case or cyl. base gasket in oil?) or possibly a ring issue, IMO (which blow-by was mentioned in the other thread by hillbillybob). If you feel your oil is getting darker faster than normal, your rings/cylinder could be worn/failing for whatever reason, and the combustion products/byproducts could be trashing your oil--not sure.

I feel like a month is too soon to change the oil, I used to do it every 3 months or so before installing the BBK, now I also need to change mine every month. I'm not sure if it is normal usage or not, comparing to the old non BBK setup I used to have. I find that by the time I am going to change the oil because it gets black I have lost about 1/4 of my oil. On my old 50cc setup the oil would not get black in the first month, it would slowly go from light yellow to brownish to brown to dark brown to black then I would change it by the third or forth month and it would have lost almost no oil. With the BBK it goes from light yellow to brown to black over a month. I'm thinking the rings may have got scuffed or may have scratched something when the bolts were loose, I am going to be ordering new gaskets soon to tear it down and do a run through. Probably take an extra measure and put some gasket sealer on this time.

When you did the BBK did you remove the green part on the case gasket? If not, I suspect that the piece you found is from that part of the gasket...

I never removed anything under the cylinder jug, so I never removed the part of the case that has that gasket. I checked that part of the case too, the bolts are all still factory tight, never been removed.

My goodness lain ! , what's next ? It sounds as if you may need to start all over again. Since your nuts were loosening , your gonna have to check the gaskets. You were probably sucking in dirt from between the head and cylinder because of the loose nuts . if you found pieces of gasket , you will have to tear her down again and check that out . hopefully you do not have to remove the jug again , because you know what that means ! New rings and honing , or new kit again. Was it pieces of a metal gasket or not.

New rings and honing , or new kit again. Was it pieces of a metal gasket or not. Only the silver cardboard stuff. The only gasket I used that is like the gasket I took out of the oil, and since it's gotta be between the combustion chamber and the oil pan, is the gasket that goes on the bottom of the cylinder jug. I may also check the chain tensioner because that also used the same gasket type. The only other spot I remember there being that type of gasket is the intake manifold, but I doubt it could find it's way into the oil pan from the intake manifold. If there were no problems with anything, just the gasket, wouldn't I only need to replace the gasket? geh3333 yeah I have a lot of problems I suppose from running in horrible weather all the time and using my scoot as my main means of transportation in a city that cares only about main roads... barely. Like last night I found I heard a lot of clanking when I started up to go home. I have been outside all day cleaning the CVT and working some replacement parts in there because I found one of my plastic sliders broke, another was about to break, and the belt tore on the inside. I just cleaned the CVT till it shined like brand new metal, replaced the plastic slider things, and weighed out some weights and put in 3x8.45g and 3x8.00g weights because I wanted all even weights in there and those were what I have lying around. Something you may find interesting is, while comparing my old variators with my current "performance" variator I found that the backplate that I put the plastic sliders on is smaller than all the stock OEM variators, however the stock OEM backplate fits perfectly into the '"performance" variator. I thought it was weird because the sliders I had would not fit into the performance back plate so I used the stock backplate instead. Now I am currently working on how to remove a seized brake pivot from my rear drum, just came in to search the forums and internet for someone who has already removed one, found out what I'm gonna do and about to go back out and do that and grease it up right so it works right again.

I hope you get it all figured out buddy. I agree , its probably from riding in all the weather and as an only means of transportation. I hope the broken v-slides don't bring to light another issue.

Well, the bad idling and bad starting went away after I put the CVT back together, so I'm thinking I've been running with a bad slide for a while and not until the other one sort of broke did it make a sound. I noticed all the vibration that had been getting worse over time went away as well. I've got some issues I don't bother the forums with since I've learned a lot, I mostly ask here now when I need a more experienced user to clarify things for me or tell me if I'm doing it wrong or not haha.
