I think you need a new flywheel anyway, because the notch on it looks destroyed when looking at the pic zoomed in. You really should take a look at the notch on the crank, too, to see how that looks.
EDIT: It could just be the pic, but you might want to take another pic at a different angle if you are unsure.

Yeah the notch in the flywheel does look all rounded out now when I zoom in...

The notch on the flywheel is a little rounded at the back but straighten up going to the front. I think its alright for now. The key notch on the crank is fine. I put the woodruff key back in and it started up and takes off fine. Still needs a new stator though. Thinking about just getting a 6-pole stator. ($20) Or save my money to get a 8-pole and flywheel combo ($40). any thoughts? It is a difference between a half-wave ac and a full-wave ac stator? If I was replacing a 6-pole, I would definitely upgrade to an 8-pole. Don't worry about the full vs half wave, it won't make a difference on a scooter.

If you need any cables built when you do your upgrade, give me a shout. Around $10-25 per cable/harness... depends upon how many feet of cable and the amount of plugs/terminals used. Is this offer for anyone? Wouldn't mind a simple harness with head and tail lights. Maybe turn.... Let me know. Thanks Edit: Sorry; maybe shoulda PM=ed.

You can see in the stator video, I make quality cables and use stock plugs so you do no splicing or soldering. You have to be able to provide pictures to illustrate exactly what you want... I can also build harness's based on diagrams.

OK. Might take me a few days but I got you. Thanks a lot: 'Prolly less expensive and better quality than I could/would create. One wouldn't know that I also repair PCs, tablets, phones, gaming-system and other electronics along with providing extensive technical solutions. Not boasting: Just saying one has never seen my wiring technique on a scooter. Hahahaha! Or anything else mechanical, for that matter. Plug-and-go.

Im a radio tech by trade,,I repair RF amps, two way radios ect...I actually build amplifiers as well,,but there is more $$ in repair. Electronics has always been a passion of mine!Computers I can do also,,as long as its plug and play,,Im not a huge fan of dealing with SMT technology...

Does the crank key slot look alright? Look between the yellow lines: Is the steel peeled back and/or mushroomed as it appears?

Yeah it does look messed up there, it's hard to tell depth at all in that pic. Take another pic or two, and clean the shaft up a bit. That slot should only be wide enough to fit the woodruff key in.
I'm editing my post above from earlier. Not so sure now, sorry.

I rather wait until my new stator come in to take off the flywheel again.

Even though that flywheel notch may be ok --between that, your mis-shaped woodruff key, and POSSIBLE play in the keyway area on the crank.... sounds like a recipe for disaster. Not just possible timing issues, but who knows what else could happen in that area without tighter clearances-- for a worst case scenario.
