I'm finally going to replace the seal in the gear box. The seal keeps gear oil from leaking out around the rear axle. Does everyone know the hole down under the brake lever by the rear wheel . its there just in case the gear oil leaks out through that seal . the hole allows the gear oil to then drain out from around and onto the pavement or where ever instead of into the brake drum . well me being the genius that I'm decided to fill the hole in . I never liked that hole since a lot of dirt and water " if caught in rain " could possibly fly up the hole and into the Axel bearings . wouldn't you know the darn thing decided to start leaking and all the gear oil that leaked ran into the brake drum . honestly the rear brakes still seemed to work ok , but the gear oil must not like it in the brake drum , because it then runs out and down the rim and tire . and again being the genius that I am , I realized that oil on the tire might not be a good idea. So I'm going to check and replace the gear oil seal 2day. I was wondering how I can get the gear oil to drain back through the hole I filled. For about a week now I was trying to come up with a way to remove the jb weld I stuck into the hole. When I went into town i saw this thing that took a battery and had a DC motor , it looks similar to a gun but u put some kind of spiral metal thing into the front of it and when you press the button it spins the spiral thing . I think they call it a " drill ". I'm not sure if the letters stand for something or not , but wow this thing is great ! It will actually remove the jb weld very easy just by holding and slightly pushing the drill forward.
Anyway , lol , I actually have a way to remove the axle without removing the swing arm , exhaust or shocks . I'll post some pics as I am working on her .

Getting closer to "D" day . John I couldn't test her out today , the rain came around 7-8:00 am . I'll deff get a chance sometime within the next couple days. I would love for the koso to prove me wrong . I was thinking earlier , what if the starter clutch was slightly holding the crank back . when I took the other koso off I noticed the belt wasn't traveling that high up the variator , which indicatesntoo light roller weights ," I'll post a pic when I get home " . this could account for the reason I had to use lighter roller weights . something on the clutch was obviously rubbing an making noise. I'll know if I have to use heavier weights when I take her out on a test run this week. So the only problem may be the belt not dropping in the variator completely . bit this could be fixed with shims . we will find out soon what the answer is .

LOL,,Im glad it was the starter clutch,,you knew that right from the beginning..lol..does your gear oil leak out the back when you remove the lower bolt that holds the CVT cover on man? Mine does,,and it bugs me,,cause every time Im working on my CVT the darn oil is dripping out the back until I put that one bolt back in???Real pain..i don't remember it doing that before i did the gears,,maybe the gasket is beat or something..does yours do it?

I'll be take another video of the fan area sometime this week , so you can hear or actually " not hear " the noise. When it comes to the gear oil leak , mine never dripped from any of the rear CVT cover holed , but i have noticed the threads on one or more had some gear oil on them . you know how the gasket goes around each bolt hole , I bet the inner part of the gasket " in front of the bolt hole is either gone or in bad shape. This would cause the gear oil to find its way out the bolt hole. The gasket is probably intact around the outside of the hole, not allowing the gear oil to leak beyond the gasket. The gear oil found a detour around the gasket, lol.

Yeah,,I didn't put ant sealer on it when I put it together after gears,,,might have to take it apart one day and put a new gasket with some Indian Head Shellac,,that wont leak ever again,,even with two bolts out..lol that stuff is great for paper gaskets!

I had the same size belt in my voyager with 14g sliders , it was suggested to me to use an 846 belt . I did buy one and never installed it ,so I never tried it. I suppose the extra 4mm will make it ride to the top of the variator and the bottom . John
