I having problems with my Tao Tao atm50 that i just got two days ago.
The problem is that at first it started up just fine nothing was wrong with it.
However after I turned off the scooter and left it alone, for like an hour or two,
and tried to start if back up, it started but seemed weak and when I rev it, it
just bogged out and died. After that, when i tried to start it the same thing
would happen but it just sounded weaker and weaker each time i tried. So, I went and recharged the battery, and after a couple of start ups it ran fine again. But again today the same problem is happening.
I also notice that after awhile of trying to start it back up, the fuel gauge will go down while it's cranking.
Any help is appreciated ^.^

sounds like a dying battery
and/or something is draining it.
check all connections

and yes it brand new. I'm going to see if the battery V's are low.
also there is one plug that's just hanging out but i don't see anything that it plugs into.
its hanging on the right side above the fan.

Take a pic of the plug it could be the plug for the choke for your carb, that would cause those issues

 this is the plug, wires are color green/white and black/white also does this hose in the red box connect to anything?  |

Carb probably needs adjusted but yours is most likely unadjustable the hose is an over flow hose its supposed to be like it is

Follow the Enricher wires and see if it plugged into a white plug. Although that is not your hard starting problem because if it is not plugged in the default of the ENRICHER is to feed extra fuel. But like others said you need to richen up the fuel mixture on the carb but most likely you have a plugged Fuel Ratio Mixture screw. You can drill the plug out or get a new aftermarket carb. The plug is for a centerstand/kickstand switch . Don't worry about that plug . Make sure the screws on the clamps on the carb are snug/tight . I would check the intake manifold is snug/tight . Look into replacing the vac lines and fuel lines . I use screw down clamps I'm no fan of spring clamps .

If it's new it won't need a valve adjustment. However a checkup won't harm.
Also, if it's really cold, try adjusting the idle screw. Put it a tiny bit higher.
Make sure you have 10W30 engine oil in there. 10W40 is good for when the temp goes above 80 degrees F.

The valves go off adjustment and need regular checking .

Thank You Guys for the replies, I really appreciate it.
Have do what you guys recommend I changed the oil to Rotella 15w-40 since i live in South Florida and heard people having to replace their pistons on the first day. and have also adjust the idle screw i think it was to high. Next thing on my list is defiantly changing the vac/fuel lines and spark plug.

Alright Remi,
I think we got the source of the problem!
Generally 15W40 is too heavy for your scooter, especially when it's new.
I use the same (live in Miami), and also had starting issues in the winter, or on a cold morning; but it's normal for your scoot not to start with that oil.
That oil is good for summer. Just give it a couple of weeks, and you won't experience starting problems anymore.
My scoot is outside in the sunshine, so when I start it, the engine already is kind of warmed up.
You could always mix in a little 10W30 to thin it out a bit.
In FL winter (like it is here, I live in Miami), I'd not put anything heavier than 10W40.
Miami is hotter than any other place in FL...
