I know some guy who had 30K miles on his chinese scoot and all he did was replace a clutch and tires,,he used the castrol synthetic oil from day one and ran it 45-50 mph for 60 miles everyday to work and back,,he is on youtube also..he sold it still in good running shape.

I didn't have problems with the crossbar, it sits a bit tight, but a bit of patience can do wonders

Oh no kidding. I hope to achieve similar results, I'd consider myself very lucky lol. I feel like there's no reason you can't reach higher mileage with these things so long as you pay attention to things that are breaking/are broken/need servicing. Neglect has gotta be the number one killer of Chinese scooters.

I didn't have problems with the crossbar, it sits a bit tight, but a bit of patience can do wonders Depending on just how tight it sits, I might be concerned about it snapping off or breaking something else on the right bump or dip in the road. You don't happen to have a pic do you?

That will work,,mine is a little squished in the airbox too..lol.
If you change the oil every 1000 miles and keep up with all the maintenance,belts,filters,lines,tires,ect...I see no reason they should not last a long time. You cant go riding around at 7K RPM's all day everyday either IMO if you want it to last years.
I change my oil every 1000km,,i know its overkill but its cheap and gives me something to do,,i don't like when my oil gets dirty.
Here is the video of that dewd...he had 26,000 miles on it here but he kept it longer, last time I asked him it had well over 30K.
He has an Automotor scooter with 60K on it also.. If I could get 20k miles I would be more than happy!

jerseyboy - Oh yeah! I've seen that dude around YouTube. I was checking out his videos long before I found this board and started posting here to try and figure out what scoots I was going to look at. And thanks for the pic ricardoguitars, I could live with that!
