What several people have done here is used a couple of Cree spotlights. I believe you have to do a stator upgrade, or run a second battery and keep it charged, not sure, perhaps someone who has done the mod can chime in. Here's one thread where they discuss several options, with pics showing how some mods were done: itistheride.boards.net/thread/5733/pic-scoot-led-lights

Pictures of the wires to the lights and lights would be helpful. Do you normally have 2 headlights or are you adding another headlight?

Take the non green wire, splice into it and run it to the other lights non green wire terminal. Im not responsible if you fry your stator from to much load.

thanks todd, I got a question, what if I used led lights would that bring down the draw in power, stators are easy to come by in my area. got a couple scooter shops within 10 miles of me and all deal in new and used parts, aftermarket as well

also todd i was planning on using a cutoff switch so lights don't come on when scooter does so that way lights would only be used at night what you think?

In most states, it is illegal to operate a scooter, moped, or motorcycle without the headlight on 24/7. I didn't notice much difference between hi-lo on my headlights, so I wired the switch as a cutoff. However, my headlight assembly includes running lights that stay on, giving it the appearance of the headlight being on during the day. A cop who wrenches on bikes might notice, but I haven't had any problems to date.

I keep my headlights off during testing, starting and during daytime riding. Even when my bulb burnt out and I had to ride home from work at night as long as the service bulb still shined bright enough to see there was a light in there at night I never got pulled over. I had a couple cops follow me but after seeing the MBTA union sticker they stopped following, one of them even passed me and waved.

I am using halogen bulbs now, much brighter, crisp white light. Power consumption shouldn't be an issue with 2 headlights. I have a friend who has a vip that originally had one headlight, his scoot was broken into and stripped of parts, one of the parts being the entire front fairing including the lights. We wired a different front fairing to it that had 2 halogen headlights, where the original light wires were I cut them and made sort of T joints with the wires. I tied the 2 headlight negative wires together, then using a terminal wire end, I cut off the terminal end so there was just the round cylinder and crimped the round cylinder around the 2 tied wires and the negative wire from the scoot and made sure they were tight and would not come out, then wrapped them up with electrical tape. Then I did the same thing for each of the positive wires from the scoot for the regular and highbeam lights. We did not add anything extra. It does not seem to draw too much power, it still charges the battery while running like normal and otherwise works like normal. Is this what you are trying to achieve? Or are you trying to add more headlights to the original circuit, like you still have 1 headlight and want to add 2 to have 3?

thanks lain, you hit the nail on the head for me that is what im trying achieve, not trying to add more lights, just make the ones on the scoot more reliable. im also kicking around an idea of throwing in some projector style lenses I have sitting around from an old pair of accord one piece lights, like the morimoto style lenses and swap out the stock housing lights with those
