Rmember to put gloves on and hold the outer drive face so the impacts are not marking up the crank pin. When you use an impact wrench on a variator or stator nut and you don't take measures to stabilize things you can end up transfering a lot of that to the crank pin, connecting rod and piston.

I was using an air compressor with pneumatic impact wrench but it might not have had enough torque. Might wheel it on down to a shop and see if they will break it lose.
