While I was outside running the scoot I noticed that I had an oil leak. I found it was coming from the used starter I just installed. So I removed the starter and removed the rubber o ring seal from the starter . I added a very thin layer of jb weld in the slot the o ring seal sits in and after it started to dry I put the seal back on and replaced the starter . the problem I have now is I'm not sure how much oil I lost . I had a small puddle under the scoot and here is the kicker , I LOST MY DIPSTICK ! Your probably wondering how I did that . well I use one of those thermometer dipsticks which have no markings for oil level and I usually keep the regular dipstick in the trunk of the scoot for oil changes and to check the oil level on occasion . but I lost the reg dipstick somehow . I should have marked the thermometer dipstick so I wouldnt have this prob but I didn't.
I was wondering if someone would be able to throw me some measurements of their dipstick , that is just the stick not the threads. And how high the markings go up the stick . Thanks a lot Id really appreciate it.

Time for an oil change, it seems to me!
And remember how LITTLE oil is there in the tiny crankcase. I measure out 0.5 liter, and not once have been able to put it all in w/o overfilling. Some say 0.65L, but that would have it overflowing from the dipstick opening on mine.
Will measure tomorrow for ya, pal (though i'm STILL green with envy about that open carry privilege you have there! EQUALITY! I demand EQUALITY!).

I really didn't want to have to change the oil this late . plus the only full quart of oil I have is a cheap quart of dollar general brand which I do not like to put in the scoot. I'll be taking it out around 5 am so I did add some oil but I like to know exactly how much is in there. I'm sure I'll be fine for a 30 mile rd trip . I tried to get some measurements online but there are so many different style and length dipsticks. Some you measure by screwing them in all the way and some you measure without screwing the dipstick in . thanks for the help , also if you can tell.me how you measure with your dipstick . thanks It would be hard for me to move to a state that has so many firearm regulations . we don't even have a mag capacity limit in pa. If I really wanted to I could walk down the street with my AK and a 75RD drum with one in the chamber around my shoulder. Now I'm sure I'd get stopped but there would be nothing they could do besides give me sh-t for doing it . of course I'd just be asking for trouble but its nice to know that we have the right to do it . I believe that when it comes to firearms a law abiding citizen should be able to own and carry any firearm a criminal can.

I found some measurements on the line .lol do you know what movie that's from ? I wouldn't have been able to sleep if I didn't get it right. The dipstick that came with my new engine was shorter and had a different length fill level , so I had to measure it different then with the normal length dipstick. So now its 1:45 am and I have to get up at 4:15 am . Yeah , good times. I'd probably get arrested for sending it to CA.

I don't see why you need that for hunting !
/sarc
BTW: my old (1981) Honda Goldwing has two large whip antenna (old school technology) sticking up from the back. I KNOW I have a wooden gun rack stored away somewhere from when i was a kid (back in the 1800s!). Have thought long and hard how much fun it would be to mount it sideways to the antenna and ride along these California streets with a gun rack on the bike. Imagine the looks I'd get !!!!!!!!!!

I've always wanted to come up with a way to attach my AK to my scoot .

If I were to post a photo ,like that there would be a Swat team at my front (and back) door within 7 minutes.
It takes them 2 hours to respond to a rape or a domestic violence / shots fired complaint ..... 3 DAYS to a stolen vehicle complaint ...
but woe be to he or she who is known to harbor a firearm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all for the help , I did get the oil level right and I made a couple marks on the thermo dipstick . this afternoon I ended up time finding my dipstick in the small pumpkin patch in front of the porch . of course there are no more pumpkins and the vines " or stems " are all dried up . anyway the dipstick was lying just about right on top , I just couldn't see it last night . I put it back in the trunk ?
