Hi this ? is for walter or any of you that can help.i've been on multiple forums with this ?and got a lot of good info but some of the info has me confused.so here I go again.my ? I have a 1P57qmj 150cc scooter and would like to run a12 cam some people say you can't because i'll have clearance problems with the 1p head because the cam cratill deck height is different than a 157qmj motor also it will retard the timing unless you can advance the cam gear .one guy on utube said that a a9 was the biggest cam you could run in a 1p motor I'm confused can you set me straight.also if the a12 cam won't work can I change the 1p head for a 157qmj head without any modification .any help would be great.

Take the valve cover off and measure the Head Studs Diagonally, If they measure 3" then all the 157QMJ parts will fit. Just have to watch the chain length. If it has the taller head the chain will have 1 more link than your standard 157QMJ motor.
If the studs diagonally measure 3.25 then the standard 157QMJ parts will not fit. Alleyoop

alleyoop Thanks for the info. You mentioned the cam chain length I take it that the cam chain tensioner won't make up the difference so I'll have to change the chain as well.is that right?also if that is so will I have to split the cases to install the new chain?or is there a trick to avoid that .thanks in advance.
