Well, anyway, the scooter is back together (this time with the arrow pointing to exhaust) and as soon as the battery is charged will give it a try. Hope the issue is resolved! Alright! Looking forward to seeing you back in the game, RCQ!

Not to be a downer, but I'm really hoping the failure wasn't caused by shotty parts. I'v very curious as to how well this new setup holds together. I'm currently talking to this vendor about one of his stroker setups. He is saying that this 62mm BBK with a 6mm stroker crank does not need engine case boring to be installed. I can only guess that the piston is shorter and the spacer he includes allows this kit to be installed without having to bore the case. www.ebay.com/itm/191353548901?item=191353548901&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr

Suonds dubious, Shannon (about fitting w.o boring the case). The 60mm jug JUST BARELY slid in --- a mm larger and it would not have made it. Can't see how they could go 2 mm larger on the piston / liner and not have a larger bottom diameter on the jug.
But if you are getting a new crank it's a big non-issue anyway! You will already have taken the crankcase apart - at that point boring it out is a snap! Heck - taking the case apart - though not a "terrible" job - was just enough of a pain to NOT make me want the 62 or 63mm BBK. But if you are also going to a long throw crank, and will have the case apart anyway --- heck --- I'd get the absolute biggest damned piston made!

On a 157QMJ about the biggest you can slap in is a 58.8 withoug boreing it out. I think it is NCY that has a 61 that they say will fit without boring but what I think they did is take some material from the jug to make it fit so the jug would be paper thin. Alleyoop

rcq92130 Boring my case would take an extra 2-7 days depending on the shop's work load. But I do see your point. Tho "if" I were to want to go BIG I would rather just buy a kit that comes with a bored out case. Only problem is that most kits I can find have a long case. There are not many kits for a short case listed. I am really starting to wonder what else besides some body (rear fender) mods I would have to do to just go with a long case. I should still be able to rum my 10" rim. alleyoop Yeah I'm having serious doubts about that kit, but he does sell a true 60mm kit that RCQ (you seen the measurements) has.and it fits with no boring. As you know that's 155cc for a 58.5 BBK to 163.5CCs. Talking to him in email, his english is not so great. I get the feeling that he's not exactly getting the point of my questions. .

Hi Shannen
If you strip down the case .... the step of enlarging the hole (boring it out) is trivial. ScootDwgs even sells a do-it-yourself tool. Just my opinion - but don't think that should even be a consideration presuming you have the thing stripped (and thus ready to be bored). And - just my opinion ..... but why buy a new case (with an already bored out hole) when you have a perfectly good case the simply needs it's hole a bit larger?
ps: the gaskets for this a really, really cheap --- but I had to get a full gasket kit (just to get a 60mm jug gasket) and have no need for the crankcase gaskets. Just let me know if you want them & I'll send them.

That last one might be of use...thanks! I never really thought we could put the taida stuff on our engines. But I guys as long as it's 54mm spacing it all should fit.
Edit: The reason I want to avoid boring my case is down time. I don't have a car so it sucks to have to get a ride for a week wile I'm waiting on the boring to be done. Wile if I had an already bored out case as part of a kit, I can just reassemble it almost as fast as I tore it apart.

Not that everything is about the money.

Pricey, especially given you only use it once ... But use it, slap it on EBay, get most of your money back and move it on to the next guy. A thought, anyway.

Ha! Glad you finally made bail! BTW: the 'problems" I had were only because i installed the piston of my BBK backwards (at least, I HOPE so). With the 30mm carb the thing was running GREAT (except for low RPMs, which is another issue).
