Looking to get a dual set of helmet communicators for myself and my partner for our ruckus's. We don't really listen to music when we ride or need it for phone calls just communication between ourselves. We rarely get very far from of each other when riding and don't go past 40mph so wind noise shouldn't be a problem. Anyone using a set now that you are happy with or can give advice in choosing one brand over another? I had read that the sena smh5 was reccommended for scooters but not motorcycles going fast and was more suitable for rider to passenger communications, so not sure if I would need to uprgrade to the sena smh10 which has all kinds of bells and whistles I don't need. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My wife purchased Shark Motorcycle Audios Shkmbt88i Snowmobile Bluetooth Multi Interphone Headsets Intercom Set and for $98.00, I consider it a steal. It works really good, really easy to use... It has more features than you're looking for but bluetooth and phone is pretty standard on these devices these days.... I can vouch for them however as they work awesome! Here's a link: Shark Moto Intercom

www.sena.com/ and www.cardosystems.com/scala-rider Both come in several different flavors. You should be able to find something that suits you. There's always the option of grabbing a second hand set off Ebay as well since folks tend to upgrade after a while. I have a set of high end Scala's. Not necessarily a good value for the price but they work well and have served us well. Being able to communicate, either rider to passenger or bike-to-bike adds a whole new dimension to riding. This summer we paired up with another couple and were chatting amongst the 4 of us. I've also been able to receive calls on my cell and have the person at the far end not be able to tell that I'm zooming down the highway. Technology can be pretty cool sometimes.

I ride with my wife (she has her own scooter). The Shark Moto may preserve my marriage.

I have an smh10 for my own use and plan on getting the smh5 for the wife. I ride with a modular helmet and can say that wind noise isn't a factor til up to about 60 mph or I have the visor up. The controls are easy to use with gloves on. Only 2 buttons and a rotary dial to use. Can't say anything about bike to bike comms but as far as music use the sena rocks. Just made sure you have ear pockets in your helmet for the speakers and take time to place them correctly. Stay safe
