I have a 08 50 CC Benelli and just got a blue racing CDI box wondering if anyone has done the wiring on this installation or has any help they can give me and getting this wired up the old CDI has 5 wires but the plug is different and so are the color of the wires I was able to hook it up and get power to the CDI because the red light on the new CD I is turning on when I hit the starter switch the other three wires I'm not sure how they should be connected I tried many combinations any help would be appreciated

Forget the colors they could be different BUT follow the wires from the STATOR to the CDI, Should be 3 important wires A. 1 to power the CDI B. 1 from the Pickup Coil. C. 1 from the CDI to the COIL to fire the plug. the bottom ones on the 4 plug are ground. D. the top 1 on the 2 plug is the killwire. Alleyoop

You do know you have to squeeze the brake to work the Electric start right? Also the killswitch must be on the run position

Yep got it. The weird thing is that the only time I got spark the kill switch was off but can't make it do it again in module itself has to be touching the frame

Sounds like a grounding problem, do you have the motor grounded to the frame if not no spark. Alleyoop

Well if it works with the old CDI then the problem is with the NEW cdi, did you maybe get the wrong cdi? What is the CDI that works AC or DC if you know? If you don't know easy enough to find out PUT the KEY ON and test the BOTTOM WIRE on the 2 plug if it registers 12volts it is a DC cdi if not it is a AC cdi.
Put up a picture of the NEW CDI? Is it one with a couple if inchs of wire and a plug on the end of it? If so put it up and I will tell you which wires are what. Alleyoop

I was able to get spark last night by trial and error and the scooter has started up going to test drive it tonight the CDI I got was off of ebay and it's one of the small aluminum blue units with 1 plug & 3 loose wires current mods I have done on this finale or big bore kit expansion chamber carburetor orange coil and 6 gram variator weights I have it running real well but I'm trying to get it to go 40 miles an hour on a flat surface with a hundred and twenty pound rider do you think I'm barking up the wrong tree trying to achieve this

How big of a BBK do you have in it a 63cc, 72cc, 83cc, 100cc etc.. It will take at least a 72cc to get it near 40mph and some CVT changes, 83cc in the 40s etc...
What MODS exactly do you have on it? Did you up jet the carb? The CDI and COIl will not do nothing for your top end that is just helps it idle and start better with a little hotter spark. Alleyoop

I put a 72 cc on it blue silencer expansion chamber 19mm carb ( dont know jet size but i will check ) on the carb on the air filter side i need to have the small screw all the in for it to run good. I also put 6 gr variater weights on and a small k&n styles filter. I took it out tonight and it goes pretty good, 30 on flat maybe 35 . 38 down hill and 20 up steep hill
