Yep if your away for some months at a time a battery tender junior is a great way to keep the battery up and not depleted because most of the time if a battery gets depleted to much you cannot revive them. Alleyoop

Thanks alley for the explanation! I tend to use the kickstand to turn off my bike. And then turn off the key so the lights go off. Occasionally I use the kill switch, which I immediately return to the on position. I figure if you never use something, it's gonna' quit working. Says the gal who never uses her scoot. (at least, not in comparison to some of you guys here!) foto, glad your battery sounds like it's back up. And I third the BT jr. I keep my scoot plugged in all the time at home. Same battery that came with him in 2007. I did have my mech test it this spring, and it's still going strong. I put all credit on the tender. >'Kat

One comment on a car battery charger. Be careful as some have a 75 amp boost mode for jump starting which could be damaging to a scooters battery and electrical system.
Only use a car charger at its lowest amperage setting and never in boost or start mode.

Just as a heads-up to y'all: I rode it yesterday and it started beautifully!! Thanks!!! Here's a foto I snapped during the ride. Sunday when the battery died, I was testing a camera and planned to go out to test it in ISO50 (very low virtual-film sensitivity) but instead, I spent most of the day online looking for solutions or walking around the neighborhood looking for three motorcycle owners who I see while walking always working on their bikes, but of course that day I didn't see not one!! Thanks again everyone!! grrrrr the url didn't work, so here's the link instead. rats fototaker.smugmug.com/Other/the-Vision-of-fototaker/29797590_gD7Dvv#!i=3575697340&k=5kvnDXd&lb=1&s=A fototaker.smugmug.com/Other/the-Vision-of-fototaker/i-5kvnDXd/0/L/DSC01679-L.jpg

thanks SylvreKat rockynv alleyoop again for the suggestions. yesterday when I cranked her up, I did sense that everything seemed more powerful. The lights, the engine, everything - really!! It even seemed to run a bit better, though the idle is still rough since it's been almost three years she's been mine without any serious maintenance on her. Now I wonder if - during the three trips gone to Spain - though she starts right up the very first time, maybe the battery has been getting low. I doubt if the fuel gauge would kill the battery in just 10hrs.... hmmmmm They just opened up a Target about 2-3 miles away; maybe i'll swing by there to see if they carry the battery tender jr. thanks again!!
