I just got a 1996 Yamaha jog. When I stop at a light, the engine stops. Also, I have to immediately hit the throttle after starting or the engine dies again. Everything else seems to be running fine. What should I do?
Thanks in advance

Coould be the idle is set to low and or the mixture air to fuel is a little off. Allwyoop
If you can put up a picture of your carb so I can see what adjustments are on there would help. Alleyoop

Pinch the fuel hose or drain the tank and then the carb bowl . Remove the idle jet and clean it . A sticking clutch can also want to engage rather than allow it to idle like if a spring broke . 50cc or BBK ? When I put on a 47mm or 70cc BBK it would start but die while at idle unless I gave it some throttle and just before coming to a stop . I put in a larger idle jet from 35 to a 40 and ta da it idles like a kitten .

Do a compression test with the engine a lil warm . Should be 120 or more PSI any lower it may need new rings
