Hey all! this is my first forum post! so i hope i am asking in the right area. Have been riding For a few years, and have a decent amount of Mechanical Experience when it comes to 4 Strokes, but near Nil when it comes to the 2 strokes.
I have a 2013 Adly Noble 50cc Which i believe is a 1pe40QMB. (or another JOG\Minarelli Variant.) I live in the US. in florida. (if that is relevant.)
The Scooter was De Restricted from factory. CDI\CVT washer\Exhaust restrictions removed, carb restrictions removed(when it was replaced with a Mikuni). The Bike used to do 49-52 MPH. and Accelerated Very smoothly, and would never miss a beat unless i was against the wind( i only weigh 140 lbs.)
Recently I had fitted a Performance pipe. (Not 100 percent sure of the brand.)
and had the carb adjusted to compensate for the difference as to not run to lean.
I am still running the stock airbox. However, now the bike rides like a slug. I can barely top 40 MPH. I believe it to be the variator weights (which are still the original, as is the rest of the CVT.)
The only upgrade i have done is the Exhaust and had the carb adjusted to compensate. the pipe is about 5 days old, and already i am noticing build up on the end of the pipe. (black, sooty Goodness.) Which is normal for most 2 strokes that are oil injected.
Any input from my fellow scooter riders?

When you say the carb was adjusted to compensate for the performance pipe did that include a up-jetting of the carb, by 2 sizes from what is in there? But sooty means RICH, pull the plug and see what it looks like, it is probably loading up in the low end.

Thanks for the Reply!! I will pull the plug tomorrow. and yes it was upjetted. (unsure of size.) my local shop did the install. however they are gone for a while for a fundraiser of some sort out of state. only charged me 25 bucks labor! hah love those guys. I took a q tip to the tip of the muffler (only ridden a few times since my commute is 3 miles.) and it was pretty sooty. almost like tar. so i agree on the richness.

Alright, pulled the plug. Plug has a bit of black buildup on the threads, but the tip is a tannish color. Which I assume is spot on.
Checked air filter box, and it is clean as can be.
Any ideas??

since you say like tar, are you mixing oil with the gas or using the oiling pump? How much is is smoking a lot maybe to much oil in the fuel mix.

Yes I do use the pump. I always keep the resevoir percent full so I never run low. It barely smokes after it is warmed up after about 30 seconds or so. I do agree that it may be a bit high, but it is a throttle driven pump, and I use full synthetic oil in the tank. Is there a way to adjust it? Or should I let the tank run dry\empty it, and just add to the gas tank?.

Alright, so update! I got a new carb. 75 main jet, plug is perfect color. Still having issues with my top speed, so new belt and weights are on order!. Acceleration is much better, but still a bit crappy. Power seems much more even than before. Ordered 5g slider weights.

Alright! got the new Weights and belt installed. 4G sliders. and kevlar belt.
Got them both in today, and the difference was amazing. However, my top speed is still off by a bit. 42 against the wind(was real bad today.) instead of 50. (assuming i went too low on the weights.)
So i think we can mark this thread closed.
Thanks for all your help.

What did the stock rollers weigh ? Mine came with 6g I tried 4g but were too light so I mixed them to equal 5g . I had a racing pie on and lost bottom end take off since no restriction in exhaust it n it an did not build up pressure but top was awesome .I ran a 75MJ when it was stock and mine has a 19mm carb where most use a smaller one . What spark plug are you using ?
