Hello, I am looking at purchasing a scooter for some fun and commuter work. I have never really rode two wheelers much outside of bicycles. I have tried to ride motorcycles a few times, but always felt intimidated by them. Thought I would try a scooter and see how it works out. I have a couple Chinese four wheelers and love them so I will be purchasing a couple Chinese scooters. One for me and one for my son. Thought I had better find a community to help with my scooter needs, so here I am....

scooters are just so damn fun to ride. like a bike you dont have to pedal. motorcycles weigh too much imo, I even tried a ninja 250 and it was work to ride.

howdy and welcome. i guess that your choice of scooter depends on what you need to do and how far and how urgent your destinations are. i hope you take your time and find something comfortable and capable.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Yes, I will be purchasing a Roketa MC-119-150. I love the rugged look that it has. Of course it is the Chinese knock off of the Asian/European style Yamaha Zuma.
I have a 7 mile run every other week to my shared ride to work, top speed limit there and back is 40mph. If I want to try a run to work it is a 25 mile commute and if I work it right should be a 50mph top speed limit between there and my house. Of course I do not think that I would want to do that every day. Just looking to cut down on wear and tear on my other vehicles. I know I will probably get some flack about Chinese, but I have two Chinese 4 wheelers that have been awesome machines. I know that the scooters should be just as great since they have had 7 years to improve them. I would also like to set this unit up for some light off roading. Lots of forest and desert roads to explore in the area. Kinda like this guy....

Welcome to the site!
That looks like a GREAT scooter! It should meet your needs fine, considering a Chinese 150 is at its best below 55mph. Most will cruise around 50mph comfortably. I also like the look. Nice and stout, and sort of "bare bones". Almost all riders like that look!
Since you already are familiar with Chinese ATV's, you shouldn't have much trouble "transitioning" your skills to the scooter. Any real problems, there are plenty of guys and gals on this site to help out.
Enjoy your new ride!
