I have been having a problem with my belt slipping on my variator on my 2010 yamaha vino 125 it only has 2083 km's on it I had this problem before with my old honda jazz.
I used sand paper to break the glaze but I had to do it every so often is there any thing I can put on both the variator face and the movable pulley face that can make the belt grip a bit better but not to aggressive that will eat the belt and it has to last a long time.

Is it an OEM belt. Some aftermarket belts are almost fits.

are you sure no oil is getting into the cvt, like from the tranny vent hose and or valve cover vent hose. On some they position those hoses right over the cvt and if oil is being squirted out at speed due to pressure build up a little oil may sip down into the cvt and onto the belt. Alleyoop

It might be worth a try with a different belt . What size and make belt is in there ?

1,200 miles in 4 years is miniscule usage only 300 miles per year. You more likely have a dried out belt that slipping from lack of use. Do you do any crawling or much creeping at speeds below 5 mph? That can leave the clutch barely engaged and generate a lot of heat stressing the clutch and drive faces along with the belt.

I try not to do much creeping but in the city it happens from time to time I just bought the bike when I got the bike it only had 845 km's on it I am the secend owner of it and it now has 2245km's on it. I have put 1400 km's on it since I got the bike in april.
I think it might be the belt it's self because it dose not always slip just when the belt is cold once you get it warmed up it dose not slip.
