So I got this scooter and it ran good! Just no idle and the exhaust was falling off I went to fix the exhaust and the wire that seemed to be a ground fell off, looked melted at the end and connected to nothing. Anyways I figured it was pointless and got ride of it. I adjusted the valves at the same time.
Long story short not it barely idles at a rather high idle setting(Misfiring/fluctuating idle). It uses a lot of gas, and it lost A LOT of accel. Needs to be gassed to start.
My instincts and prior knowledge short its an electrical problem.
I'm aiming at a weak spark. Can someone point me into the right direction.
I adjusted the valves around .007-8 for in and out the first time. Noticed this problem and readjusted to .005-6 with the same result.

That ground wire you need it , get a good piece of wire and attach it to the frame then to one of the valve cover bolts. If the motor is partially grounded it will misfire and if motor is not grounded at all NO SPARK. Alleyoop

What gauge do you recommend for the ground strap Alleyoop?
