Hey bro's,
I was watching a tube video today and the guy had the same long case 150 I have,,he changed out a belt without removing the variator.
Just by squeezing the clutch as hard as he could so the belt fell all the way to the bottom of the pulley gave him enough slack to walk the belt right off the variator without any problem at all.I tried this on mine and there was no way..he said his belt size was 842-20-30 mine is 835-20-30 so his is 7 mm longer obviously giving him the necessary slack needed to accomplish this.
My question is,,
Can I use a longer belt on my machine so i can achieve this repair on the road if need be easier than bringing tools to remove the variator nut?
If so,,what would be the difference in using a longer belt vs. a shorter one,,possibly more top speed?
