You know my stock stems are brass or steel not sure till I look tomorrow with just the little rubber seal at the bottom,,maybe the chinese are stepping it up after all the complaints about them...they been on there for two years with no issues at all so far..heck the tires where pretty well inflated after sitting all Winter,,just a few pounds off

Yeah mine held up for over 5 years, but should have been changed before I did. The back stem got dinged up (hit the engine) because I wasn't paying attention to the way the stem was facing after either filling it or replacing the tires. Typical airhead move. (no pun intended)

I went to my local Honda dealer and had the curve ones I had them replace both when i replace the tires. The bad news it cost me $10.00 extra for each one of them so far a year and a half later no leaks.

It is considerd best practice to replace the stems every time you put a new tire on so for me that about annually.
