went to start my scooter and wouldnt start it sounded like a dead battery then the starter gears spun but didnt turn the crank but only a few times, went to jump start scooter with a car didnt work, took my spark plug out and wasnt getting spark when i grounded the plug, i even had my hand on the spark plug and nothing , then i felt one jolt and nothing after that so maybe bad ignition coil?...as i walked away and came back my rear brake light was on and my keys were in my hand...odd i shook my wires with my cdi and battery and the light went off...so im at a lost of confusion ima get a coil and plug tmrw but it may be my magneto im not sure if anyone has experianced something similar please respond...
and i rode my scooter to work it sputtered a few times and let out a big boom but then rode fine....(it needs upjeted)

You have a wiring problem. Magnetos don't go out unless something takes it out. Keys not in and lights on means somethings crossing, and or shorting out. Last time I had thats problem I changed the wire harness and it went away.. It was a though because the wires go through the whole bike front to back.

If you have a BBK in there and did not up jet your carb the Big BOOM you may have blown the piston. Alleyoop

If you have a BBK in there and did not up jet your carb the Big BOOM you may have blown the piston. Alleyoop I know what the say about not up-jetting, but I strongly disagree with the tragic outcomes reported. Once upon a time when I got a bbk and everything but a new unsealed carb then got broke. I was running EXTREMELY lean. I mean you can smell it overheating when you ride and park the bike. New oil turned tar black in 72 hours of riding. (Not 72 non stop). And everything else that come with being lean, but NO engine blowing. This continued for at least 2 months. At most I think I caused excessive wear on the rings, and cylinder, causing compression loss. I would take it on at most 10 mile rides with minimal lights and signs. It would have problems starting after I cut it off but once it cooled down or if I let it idle for a bit before cutting it off it would be good. It was soo bad you can feel the heat by getting close to the engine. Multiple times I feared the engine would ignite with me on it.(Not who's being dramatic)

Yea, everything on these things can go bad. I've had multiple cdi's go bad on my some new. I had a problem in my wire harness. It was taking out my stator and cdi left and right. I don't know where the problem was but I pin pointed it to the harness, replaced it and never had a problem again. I'm sure it shorted out other things too because now my battery weakens the head lights when plugged in, and the bike drains it instead of charging. I don't care enough to fix it, I just unplug the battery every ride and use it for starting.
