Hello! I just joined. I've wanted a scooter forever and finally got my first last week. A brand new (but 2013), blue Kymco Compagno 110i. I still need to get my endorsement but I've been puttering around my complex parking lot. I'm very excited but the next open class in my area to get an endorsement is next month!
Why, yes I would like some cheese with my whine......

Welcome to life on two wheels. If you don't have to take some state mandated safety course I recommend you go to youtube and look for 'motorcycle fail' 'motorcycle crash' also instead of motorcycle use 'scooter'.
Yes I do want to scare you just a little, enough to get you to be careful and stay alive.
If you have any friends who ride get with them and discuss driver safety. You can learn much from an old salt.

Thank you! I'm one of those "safety people" and my uncle has had a motorcycle longer than I've been alive. He isn't shy about sharing his crashes either.
Here in Oregon, if it goes over 35MPH you need an endorsement. It's $200 but on the bright side, there's an organization in my county that will pay all of it when you join for $25. So $25 for the endorsement isn't bad.
I'm having trouble finding a decent scooter club to join in my area though. All the ones I see are addled and inactive.

howdy from a little to your south. I think the Oregon scooter club is somewhat close to you as they get together for rides on weekends with starting locations downtown Portland.

howdy, the oregon scooter club is basically vespa and operates around portland. they have a meeting once a month and a short ride when the weather is ok.
