You need a new Starter clutch it is not turning the crank.

i'd be more concerned with that knocking noise... if the belt has over 5k on it then i'd changed it. i don't like getting stranded and i never carry my spare with me on short trips. your belt does seem to flap around more than others but not sure the cause. guessing belt stretched or wrong size but i really don't know. someone else will have to give their opinion. |

It may be the contra spring is a little weak and is not closing the clutch pulley fast enough and you have some delay of the belt dropping in the variator and not in the pulley. Doesn't take much just a little slower in the Clutch pulley pushing the belt up will make it flap a little notice it only happens when you let go of the throttle.

I hear what seems to be a metallic sound in the background (metal on metal) throughout the video, and it seems louder the closer the camera is to the variator. Not saying it is the variator, just that the noise is noticeably louder in the video at that time--- specifically around 2-3 seconds into the video.

Alleyoop is it ok to drive like this or should there be something else to replace? The metal noise is coming from the new starter clutch vibrating, i dont know why everything is in tight. The noise stop once i put the cvt cover on. Im ordering a new belt anyways just to be safe. |

Most belts bounce around a little so that is not a big problem but the knocking sound is a problem.

When you do take some picture of it. Also try to move it with your hands it should not move. Maybe the bolts holding the actual clutch part attached to the Starter Gear are loose.

Very easy fix you need a washer behind the NUT the nut is tightening on the spline and not the variator. Happens a lot to some people, If when you put on the parts before the NUT you can see SPLINES sticking out YOU NEED a washer so that the NUT TIGHTENS on the Variator not on the splines.

probably what is causing the belt to flop around also. remove the bolt and when you put it back on, squeeze the clutch pulley, pushing the belt in as much as possible. this will give you some slack so you can properly tighten the variator. when you put the variator back on be certain the belt doesn't get pinched. if it is still loose then something else is wrong. edit: nevermind. what alleyoop said above seems more logical. my thoughts are way off here. |

Im using a washer behind the nut and its still not tight enough, i squeezed in the clutch pulley so the belt has enough slack but still the same outcome. Do i need a thicker washer or is there something else causing this issue?
