Try this.. turn the key on but do not start the scoot. Check your horn..turn signals and brake light and see if they work better. Also check the battery voltage ac and dc with the key on and the engine not running.(Of course battery should not show ANY AC..running or not running..but we had one that did) Then start the engine and do the same..and.. Tell us what ya find..as I just went through this on a customer Scoot a few weeks ago and found the issue.. When the scooters not running but in the on position everything works and sounds fine, voltages read normal no ac. When the scooters running everything works fine sounds fine, weak but brighter headlight and the battery drains. I unplug the battery and everything electrical is weak including gauges and I only get around 6vdc and an ac current.

Unplug your power wire to your ignition coil so that no current is getting to it. Then crank the engine(of course it won't start and run..we don't it to) Crank the engine and see what type of voltage ya now get. I had this happen a few weeks ago and found that RFI from the coil was going to ground and messing up my voltage to everything. Lights were dim..signals would not flash..stator voltage was all over the place and the R/R voltage was low and intermittent. Quick and simple test..let us know if you see any changes.. Glenn

Still never figured this out. Any suggestions?

Install an 11 pole stator and 7pin regulator . Hard wire it all .

Many of the 150cc scoots come with the smaller 4 pin regulator " mine did " . When I bought my new engine it came with a six pin " well actually it only has five lines in the six pin connector " I had to slightly modify the 4 pin plug from the scoot to fit in the six pin connector .

Install an 11 pole stator and 7pin regulator . Hard wire it all . John That wouldn't fix my problem would it? I put in a new stator&flywheel and regulator. New wire harness too, cleaned grounds. Seems as if somethings shorting out or something, but everything works as normal, just only at a very high rpm. I've taken parts of one by one to see if it was the problem and still nothing.

If it only charges at high rpms I have to say the R/R, either that or you have a really bad drain, which would be bad ground some place. Alleyoop

It won't charge just drains. Lights are just visible at high rpm

Well your stator is putting out fine so it has to be the R/R, or did you by chance put in bigger headlight bulbs? Or you have something wired wrong. If you test the wire from the R/R and it is not putting out 13+ volts to the battery then you have a bad R/R pretty straight forward guy. So test the wire from the R/R going to the Battery to charge it and tell us what it reads. If it is putting out then you have a wiring problem.

I tried 3 diff regulators, brand new wire harness. New stator. Everything
This all started instantly after riding in bad weather.

It sounds like sonething is loading down the system . Doing the conversion is kind of s fresh start . It also doubles the power , all lights will be dc instead of ac .
