Hi, my 50cc cold starts gradually became fussy until it doesnt start even in warm temps. Can i replace the manual choke with a delorto automatic choke kit? are they the same standard? here is the difference: the auto is this: the delorto conversion kit is this: i have started injecting petrol straight into the carb from the air intake, to enrich it, using a mini seringe, and it starts, but i have to take off the air filter every time i cold start the bike using seringe. I think the automatic choke is not working? is it supposed to throttle/choke the air intake, or to put in extra petrol?

It's called an enricher, and it allows extra fuel for the first couple of minutes. You can test yours by removing it and hooking jumper wires to your battery. The pin should extend about 3/8" over 2-5 minutes. If it does extend, then you need to test in installed to be sure you are getting voltage to it, and if not trace the wiring issue.
I don't know if that delorto conversion kit would work, since it doesn't have a pin to plug the fuel jet that allows extra fuel during cold starts. It might work, but I doubt that flat cap would make a complete seal.

I think the pin extends out when u flip the lever . Yes it must be that. I figured that it could be the top part of the assembly, and that the conversion sits on top using the old pin, but the pin would be inside there. Thanks Jerry, i may try to troubleshoot the auto enricher as you say to be serious. blocked the carb airflow entrance with my hand yesterday and it sprang to life, perhaps if i can just keep throttling the intake by hand i wouldnt need an automatic enricher: just to turn up the throttle and to block the air intake should enrich it enough to start for the moment it could be a workaround.

The problem with just blocking the air intake is that if the enricher doesn't extend and plug that fuel jet, you are constantly having the extra fuel fed through. You can attempt to compensate by adjusting the a/f mixture and the needle clip, but that's not the best workaround. Eventually, you will either foul your plug or be too lean (lean is dangerous to the gy6 engine).
