I think your counting the teeth(42) on the Reduction Gear that is pressed onto the counter shaft which are usually 42 teeth on the 157qmjs. I have the 157qmj with 62mm and 60mm stroker 182ccs. I currently have 16 counter shaft and 37 final drive gear. The reduction gear pressed on is still 42 teeth. And I am going to put in 18/36 gears I already had a 42 reduction gear pressed onto the 18 tooth counter shaft. It is just to cold right now to tear into it and change out the 16/37 out. Originally it came with 13/40. Alleyoop

I just put a stroker on mine also and a bigger carb 61mm piston with a 61mm stroker for 177cc I may go with a taller set also if my rpms go up too high but I like the torque response from the 15 37 set

Haven't tested my new set up will be finished tomorrow. I could do 64 GPS without the stroker with awesome acceleration. I ran it with a 26mm carb. I hope to cruise at 60 GPS at 3/4 throttle after the stroker. It did 72 on Speedo before the crank which was 64 gps
