I have not ridden electric scooters, but I did spend 5 years riding an electric bicycle. Currently I do not recommend EVs for one simple reason, battery life. If you never let the batteries run below 40% and don't charge them above 80%, you can extend the life, but you will still most likely be replacing batteries at least once a year. The cost of LiFePO4 batteries is still way too high, and SLAs will have to be replaced even more often and weigh a ton.
I love the idea of using solar power to recharge batteries for an EV, but until the battery tech advances more, I do not recommend an EV to anyone.

Tomos has one or two electric scooters but I doubt that they'll be imported.

I'll give it this... it's a nice looking bike. Looks like a Honda Reflex 250 Besides the batteries being expensive and impractical you are basically paying China to rape the Earth for the materials. There is nothing green about electric vehicles the mining process for rare Earth metals removes entire mountains. Despite what people think China is not the only place they are found it's just the only country willing to destroy it's natural beauty and people to mine them. Every where else the processes are illegal. Don't buy electric...

I'd rather just buy a Zero Electric Motorcycle that's literally hand built one at a time.

You could buy 4 quality scoots for the price of that psycho.

"But naysayers will still bring up the hefty price tag (the DS starts at $13,995 for the smaller battery and goes up to $15,995 for the larger one); the fact that electric vehicles aren’t as “green” as they are claimed to be; and that you still have to use power to charge them. True, true and true." Quote from the Zero DS review at CycleWorld Someday soon electric bikes will be a force to be reckoned with but it's not quite there yet...

Electric Vehicles and hybrid vehicles are only a stepping stone to what's next. I think hydrogen fuel cells are promising. See the Honda Clarity. Distrobution or hydrogen and the energy needed to make hydrogen are the limiting factors at this point.
And yes it does look like a reflex. It looks way better then the "Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust" or Geof for short.
