I see it all the time and it looks ridiculous. People buy an expensive scooter like a Honda Ruckus or Yamaha Zuma only to do the hillbilly thing and mount a milk crate on the rack instead of a nice trunk. I can see a cheap $700 chicom scooter but a $2,200+ scooter.

Actually they're a line of Gucci scooter luggage made to mimic "street" style, and in reality are the latest high fashion trend, costing several thousands just for that "look".

I don't think milk crates are uncool, I'm the type that doesn't give a crap what others think about looks or keepin up with the jones's. Everybody has different opinions and none are wrong.

I just see it as if you can afford a $2,000 scooter than you can afford a $200 trunk.

I'm learning, remember I'm a noob to scooters. You've been very helpful.

Why must we assume because someone buys a Honda or whatever that they are freaking Thurston Howell III? Some people save money and buy the very best they can and it leaves no money left for accessories. Riding any particular brand of scooter doesn't make one rich, it can actually just mean you're frugal...

Duh but if I'm spending that kind of money on a scooter or moped I'll be damned if I'm going to put a milk crate on it. I can see using a milk crate as a temporary solution while you're replacing a broken trunk.

I admit, it looks dorky. But some people don't share my good sense of style. Besides, sometimes that's how people say "keep away!!" That and aluminum foil headgear...

There are many of us who stretch the budget really hard to get a top shelf scooter, and still have money left over to put gas in it to get home. Milk crates have more usable volume for their size. They are stackable. Two crates stacked on the back rack, one or two stacked on the passenger seat and one between the feet and knees and you can bring home a lot of groceries in one trip. They are easily removed and don't bulk up the scooter when you get the load home. Beauty happens when form follows function.
