couple days ago my ignition switch stopped working. turned the key and had no power. i unhooked it and was able to kick start. well last night i couldn't get it running by kick starting and had to borrow my friends car to get to work. any way i can wire it myself so i can use the electric starter until my replacement arrives?
it is an atm50 with the 5 pin plug.

how do i do that? i believe my starter looks like this: ok, so where is the solenoid?... i'll poke my head in the engine later. i can do that without hooking the ignition back up or should i reconnect everything?

i got it started with jumping the solenoid. thx for the tip! can i put the rubber covers back on without electrocuting myself while it is running? or should i just ride it like that and cover them when i stop?
edit: new problem: i have a flat tire... it never ends with this beast. lol

You can put the covers back on it won't shock you, put some fix a flat in the tire until you can afford to get a new tire or maybe tire plus will patch it for cheap. If you can find the hole you can get a plug kit for pretty cheap.

Check the valve inside the stem it could be loose tighten it up. If its leaking outside where it goes into the rim then a new valve stem is needed. Probably has a little crack in the rubber seat. Alleyoop

Alleyoop thx guys, i'll do that instead of ordering one. guess the lesson here is don't buy cheap valve stems. they are only about 6 months old.
