Hello. New to the scooter world. buddy has a Roma 150. won't start with the starter button. kick starts fine. here is where it gets fun...engine running, none of the gauges work. now if i jump across the terminals on the solenoid it will start but again none of the gauges work. battery fully charged too. i'm thinking ignition switch is shorted out. all was fine till it got left out in the rain. any other ideas? it's a new machine so i think the solenoid is ok.

Depends how you checked it with the meter. You have to check EACH SIDE SEPERATELY if its a TUBE type FUSE just replace it. It could be bad on either end and you cannot see that. If you have a 12V LIGHT TESTER Probe each side and if it lights on both ends of the fuse it is good. When you turn on the KEY does anything work HORN, BRAKE LIGHTS ETC.. Alleyoop

Have you checked the battery or where the readings checking the fuse high like 12+.
Did you try jumping the Solenoid touch both Terminals and see if it spins the starter.
If yes then it has to be the KEY SWITCH it is not passing the 12v from the battery on the on position. maybe spray some wd40 on the key switch or get a hair dryer and try drying it off. Alleyoop

battery is reading 12.98V. same at the solenoid and fuse. yeah, i jumped the solenoid and it cranked right up. still, no instruments work, brake lights etc. i'm leaning towards the ignition switch also.

Yep that is about the only thing it could be It got soaked and either shorted out and the wires are burnt or there is water sitting at the bottom where it makes contact with each position. Alleyoop

I would try blow drying see if you can get it dryed maybe you will get lucky. Or get at it check the wires going to it and see if they look good if they do unplug and turn it upside down see if water comes out of it. Alleyoop
