If you decide to change the contra spring...this link is helpful. I made one with clamps from HF on sale for $2 each. It works effortlessly. Didn't even break a sweat.

howdy, just a note of encouragement from here. you'll never regret the knowledge you pick up in the endeavor of repairing this thing. you'll know HOW IT WORKS and that is info that transfers to a lot of other projects. keep on with the keepin' on

I just stand on the clutch and start the main nut by hand and torque it down with my impact to change the torque spring.
