With a trailer that drastically slows you down a lot more stress is going on the drivetrain of that bike which should translate into belt and clutch heat.

I actually only lose about 2 - 3 mph on the trailer. My problem is this scooter is just not meant to go at the speeds I need it to reach. Currently working on rebuilding a 250 that will hopefully suit my needs a little better.
