i gave my friend my robotechlegacy 50mm kit from ebay when i put a 52mm scrappy kit on my tapout scoot, it failed today after 1200 miles it has no compression the rings failed. I had an extra 50mm hoca piston kit i gave him to get him going again, sad it only lasted that long he changed the oil regular and did the right stuff, so did i when i had it. I only put 400 miles on the kit when i gave it to him he put 800 miles more and it was done.

I don't know anything about that kit. There is something to be said about quality parts.

Dang that sux . Was it too lean ? Did you look at the color of the sparkplug ? Was the head gasket bad too ? Some people ride scooters at their max ability and makes then not hold up if its too far tweaked or pushed to or beyond its limits . After having a piston crack an another 63 explode really turned me away from junk . I have had almost 40 mopeds , minibikes and street cruisers and never once had a piston or any engine damage . I was a wild teen and drove everything like I stole it . After joining SD and doing research I bought an Air Sal 50mm BBK after it was suggested and I liked the specs of it . Just by looking I could see how much better quality it was than the recycled pot metal junk . I had not heard of Air Sal before but I have read afterwards many others had kits from them and they worked good with the exception of a few soft seizes which was a jetting , leak or oil pump failure instead of the engine parts messing up . It also has an aluminum cylinder instead of iron so its lighter and cools faster . The piston and inside of the cylinder are ceramic coated which prevents some heat damage . I put a ModCyles 47mm BBK on my 2T and was happy until the oil pump fizzled as the stock ones are not good for high speeds unlike a Mikuni oil pump which is Japanese quality . I bought because it was only where many kits are 140 to a few hundred for 2Ts . Special thanks to Teddy554 for hooking me up with a piston kit and larger idle jet as its hard to find for a 19mm TK as its an odd size but uses Mikuni VM11/22 main jets like many others . I think its best to stick with brands like Hoca or NCY unless you can afford the Italian goodies like Polini . I have read too many horror stories about members getting junk from Ebay . I think a seller by the name of Autotech55 has a good rep as several have mentioned buying parts from him . Regardless what all mods one does to a small engine it can only be able to go so fast without overstressing it and blowing up ETC . A BBK is great way to have more power but still nothing like a larger motorcycle with a manual wet clutch can do . If one truly wants a small hot rod scooter then a 2T is the best option , as its less parts to put together , service or tear up , no oil changes or valves to adjust . The jetting on a 2T is more finicky , but one dialed it lots of fun times to be enjoyed

spark plug was actually rich, ran the 92 jet i gave him, hes up and going now but its scary it failed that quick, my scrappy 52mm kit seems great gonna ditch my ebay kit on my roketa and go with the 52mm kit from scrappy or a hoca

Was the oil level and color good ? I would think it would have ring dust in the oil as my TaoTao did when it blew up
