If your battery is already sulfated then you may be able to get it back with a pulse/desulfating charger that helps break up the build up of sulfates and can give you a few months to years more service out of a battery if it has not already been trickle charged to death.
The Tender Jr or Harbor Frieght Float Charger will not bring back a battery that has already been damaged by overcharging and suffering from sulfate buildup however it can prevent this from occuring if used to charge and maintain your battery from new.

Yea I love mine too, use it on car batteries, motorcycle batteries just about anything.. If your having a problem with your battery and it don't come back with a charger/maintainer, it's time to get a new battery.... I was really disappointed when I learned the Battery Tender only maintains and did not charge, and my charger/maintainer was actually cheaper than the Battery Tender, not much but still cheaper.. I'm pretty sure the Battery Tender Jr. is a full on charger. The manufacturer states that the Jr. charges at 0.75 amps and this is a quote from their website: "Complete 4-step charging program (Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption Mode, Float Mode)" I own one and use it on my car more than I do on my scooter and it seems to work great as a charger. Don't know what to tell you The Battery Tender Jr didn't charge anything for me.. After an hour it would go into float mode and that was it, it quit even trying to charge the battery. I even left it on the battery for two days, didn't charge anything. I have enough 12v items laying around to test with and I'm Maintaining it was flat after two days and the Battery Tender Jr saying it was charged. I had to travel 20 miles to return it so it was not something i wanted to have to do, and looked for every thing that could be wrong before i even tried to take it back. I don't think the JR was defective, but i didn't try it on anything else either. Anyway I'm pretty happy with what I have now.

I have one from Harbor Freight that was 5.99 and 1/2 amp I use this one too. Often on sale for less than 5 bucks.

I have a fully computerized float charger/booster and the problem with that unit is that sometimes it will go into float mode or fault when hooked to a marginal battery. A less intelligent charger may give that same battery a brute force charge but won't be good for getting the longest life from a newer battery that is still in good condition. That is why I have both types of chargers with a desulfating option on the computerized one. If the computer won't allow a battery to charge then I put it on the brute force model and then once it gets it up to the correct voltage then go and put it back on the computerized charger and set it to recondition and desulfate. If it still throws faults then I know that the battery is too far gone and probably going to end up stressing the charging system on the vehicle.
On my V10 truck I had one marginal battery come back on the brute force charger only to short out on 3 cells after I started it so the voltage regulator was spiking past 15 volts and then cutting out to 6 causing the ignition timing to go off resulting in severe backfiring and bucking. I could have lost some very expensive components in the charging system or even dropped a drive shaft from trying to nurse along a marginal battery. Sometimes your better off just paying up and getting the new battery sooner rather than later.

Ok, still don't know what to say, the battery in question was brand new from scrappy dog, the only thing wrong with it was I drained it using my 12 v Impact.. It has worked fine ever since i charged it and just threw it away two days ago.. So I got a little over three years use with it.. I don't know what was wrong or why, I honestly don't have your knowledge of batteries and electrical systems.. I can only tell you what happened... It's all water under the bridge now, I don't even use a scooter battery on Fawkes any more..
I use a 330 cca lawnmower battery that is kept under my seat, I use the old battery compartment to house my CDI and other electrical components for quick and easy access.. After Fawkes was broken into and his battery stolen ( I was running two batteries wired in parallel one was under the seat, they didn't get that one ) but in getting the other they ripped up half my wiring.., I changed the location where i could lock it up and went to just one battery, only bigger in cca. Ever since then I've only used the scrappy battery to run my 12v impact when needed, and Ive been using the bigger battery for 1 1/2 years in Fawkes, have had no problems what so ever.. ... So all is good now..

Sometimes when a battery is drained dead flat an intelligent charger will refuse it. Sometimes an older style dumb charger will bring it back far enough to take a charge after which you'll get the longest life using the intelligent charger to keep it going unless there was enough damage from the original incident to cause the intelligent charger to read signs of overheating or some other fault at which point it will shut down. At least the intelligent charger I bought (not through any wisdom on my part as it was the only one at the wholesale club at the time) displays fault codes explaining why it has refused to charge a particular battery.
Either that or you should use a Chinese smart charger to charge and maintain batteries on a Chinese scooter. Then again would that mean I need to get an Italian charger for the battery on my Aprilia? ;>
