Well, I braved the cold and finished taking the plastics off the bike tonight. I'm ready to start sanding and painting. New brake switches arrived today and I will probably install them tomorrow. The stereo and starter solenoid are due friday. Here is the Pile of parts The front end....

Let's hope everything goes smoothly. In checking the weather reports Cali is supposed to warm up in the middle of next week so that may help with the painting process.

One of the modifications I've done to the bike... I've added a volt meter... The meter is not in the best place to see it while riding, but it does look nice and fills the hole where the old stereo head unit was and I can make sure it's charging from time to time. All I had to do was fill four screw holes before paint, and all is good. I also started painting panels tonight. Got three of them done. I used Rustoluem Acrylic lacquer. This stuff is awesome, it fills scratches, lays down really nice and covers really well.

Well, I did the most expensive mod to day... got the bike legal with DMV.... 205 bucks, but it's good thru october... yay! I paid registration on three vehicles today, the scooter, my 1991 jimmy (161 bucks) my wifes 1997 Infinity (101 bucks)... it now hurts to sit down... LOL Ok, so I really like the white. I was going to do some air brush stuff on it, but I just think, at this point, it would detract from the lines. So, I now have an alternate plan. I'm a big fan of the transformers movies, so I'm thinking I'm going to do it up like Barricade (the police car for those who don't know).... I'll call it Barricade Jr. It will be a good marketing tool for my youtube channel and my little scooter shop (of horrors).....

Looks nice.. My mirrors shattered when scoot blew over in a wind storm. I bought the same type mirrors for mine with insurance money. Also the windshield smashed, parts broke was $550 in damages. Mine was all cosmetic. The engine runs great still. I have to say, you are fixing it up nice..
I bought led lights and placed on windshield. The led lights were to replace the mirror lights. The scooter originally came with mirror lights that connected under the dash. I simply connected the wires to led lights. They were the led lights type that you peal off plastic film and stick to something( 3M tape). Bought at Orielys.. Led lights work with hazard light and turn signals.

Ya, just bought vinyl carbon fiber wrap for .59, 12 inch x 60 inch black. Like your mirrors and thought I need it for dash. Dash has a crack in it due to blowing over in a wind storm. I recently used some J.B. weld to seal and repair crack. JB Weld held together and is dark like the plastic but with carbon fiber wrap, can make it more original cheaply. Amazon.com had the carbon fiber wrap in black for .59 + $5.00 shipping. I will do mirrors too. Give a little flair.
