I would trade it and then you could trade it for a real nice scooter . That big is too much to be a starter bike as it is light years more powerful than a scooter . First MC should be under 500cc . If you get it I hope you have health and life insurance . I had several growing up and the temptation to go over 100 is more addicting than smoking . This is why I got a 150 scooter instead of getting a fast bike and have a lil old lady cause me to wipe out with me zooming too fast .

Why if the bike was so nice and trouble free would he trade you even on your scooter? I ride with the "Big Bike" crowd and you may find the clumsiness, bulk and weight less than desireable around town. Waiting for them to shift and the lag while they are doing it can be a pain sometimes as I then can't keep constant throttle and have to roll off a bit to match it or stay further behind to allow for it. They get upset if I play on through and make it so they have to follow me for a change. I wish there was some way I could collect all the unburnt gas from their bikes and harness it as there seems to be plenty to run my bike for a month from just one short group ride. Why give up the economy and ease of use for what you wife probably sees as the "Widow Maker". You ride with a bunch of guys that don't know how to use a transmission. I don't miss a beat when I shift... For granted they can't shift well and its all the more frustrating as I can however even those that can shift still lag a bit compared to a cvt well set up. The loud clunking of the Suzuki and Yamaha shifts gets worse the quicker you flick em and really gets noisy in crowd. All together shift/clunk. The unburnt fuel spewed out by many of even the new ones makes you wonder how they passed EPA which is hard to comprehend since they give Aprilia a hard time bringing in their new Euro3 bikes which I understand is stricter than EPA now.
